Here are a few pictures of a 930 Turbo we have been working on for a customer.
The wheels are HRE 540 in 18x9 front and 18x12 rear.
The car is also running Brembo brakes on all four corners.
Also has a 935K kit. Interior has 993 seats and roll bar.

Enjoy

Car looks sick
Wheels look amazing! how wide is that lip on the rear wheel?

Reaper935 01-29-2009 07:48 AM

Beautiful, the lips are probably around 7-8" to fill the fender like that.

WheelB 01-29-2009 11:00 AM

Rear lip is 7" ;)

ZLP 01-29-2009 12:49 PM

Not a fan of 18" on an older Porsche.

Pipes 01-29-2009 07:34 PM

I agree...15 were stock, 16 were special....17 didn't come until the middle 90's. I still like the 15 & 16 Fuchs on the older Pcars. Just my opinion....Pipes

I think the consensus is that the older folks don't like the 18's.
While the younger folk think they look awesome! Which I think they do!

Reaper935 02-05-2009 10:36 PM

No I think the consensus is that the older guys just dig the looks of wheels that look period correct on the car.

I'm a young guy and I think the wheels in the above pic are sweet, however they don't capture the essence of where the slant nose came from.

The original 935's had 19" rear wheels with 16" centers that were 15" wide (I have them on my car). So its not about the size as it is about the style, BBS styled rim halves would look great to the "old guy eyes" but since the newer generations haven't seen these cars the way they were originally setup, most don't have the same visual expectations as the guys who watched these monsters race about at Lemans, Sebring & Daytona.

Yeah...I'm an old guy but those big ass wheels wouldn't work on a stock 930 body. This car has had major body changes that allow the 9" fronts and the 12 inch rears. They would have never fit in a stock 930....maybe the body on this slant nose is all aftermarket....(but the car is still awesome looking)....Pipes

i'm also from Miami..i've heard that 930 dyno over 700 whp with those 18's on it.......I believe it belong to a lawyer here locally....me personally dont like the kit...but i have seen this car in person and it really looks nice.

Pipes 05-19-2009 06:58 PM

So it dyno's over 700 HP....but what kind of weight is she and what kind speeds does she make??? Give me some numbers!!!! Can she do 0-60 in 4 seconds??? I still don't like the 18's on her.....they don't look natural....my opinion for what it's worth, Pipes.
