Blackbird Transforms to 935 K3 Phase 1
I should note the box is constructed of thin fiberglass fabric layers with layers of carbon fiber in between. Wanted a period correct look and finish so we laid the fiberglass over the carbon for a final product.
Now for today's progress:
Installed rear wheel speed sensors (made the brackets myself) and a 935 fuel filler door
Ignition tested and issues fixed, Injectors tested and all issues fixed...tomorrow we determine TDC and are crossing fingers for a light.

We got her to start late last night. Had to rewire the ignition boxes the other shop did, replace a sensor that had melted wires from when they shrink wrapped it and a host of other nightmares...long story short if you build a harness get someone who has done it many times and isn't experimenting with your $$$.
Andy at Speed Werks has been a saint at troubleshooting and fixing the harness and finally getting her started!
The moment we have all been dying to see is here...I give you The Blackbird 3.8tt 935 K3

All thank you so much for your kind words, its nice to see that the project isn't lost on the masses - took some pics last night to try to get some more decent shots for the boards.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Power is approx 700 at 1 bar at the wheels and above 1,000 at 1.6 bar.
Car weighs right at 2,000 lbs (going to weigh it again tonight) and with 315 front tires is a dream to drive at speed, even slow its not too bad.
Manual brakes, manual steering - its feedback heaven and sensory bliss, you know exactly what everything is doing ALL the time.
Still doing some tuning and will upload vids tonight of a few days ago. Still in the shakedown process.
With the ITB setup we lost a lot of torque down low but that's a good thing as it would just roast the tires with the old setup. Now first is quick but gets you up to approx 60mph without too much drama, second gear about 4k rpm you go warp speed...I mean like, no exaggeration its f&cking scary.

Extremely nice work and creation. I remember in high school in 1987 I got a ride in a 930 Turbo (from a classmate... it was his Dads) and it was dead until about 4,000rpm or so and then a light switch flipped and it was instant animal.
You have certainly solved the lag issues with your twin setup... and certainly the diet the car is on!

wow I can hardly believe the monster you have turned this into. Are you a member of any other 930 porsche forums? I'm new to the porsche forum world and was curious. always been a huge fan of the cars.
Thanks for the kind words guys - been doing some fine tuning on the street and dyno, going to have an upcoming track day on Feb 5th at CMP.
As far as Porsche forums, I started my own at funfgruppen.com along with my own enthusiast site for the 930 and hardcore grassroots enthusiasts.
Here's a couple pics ya'll might enjoy.
