My spare tire rubber looks cracked and old; can this be replaced easily by a tire repair shop? Or is this a special order item?

 

You may not even be able to get replacements from Porsche any more. I saw an article in Excellence magazine about old spares a while ago, but I cannot recall which issue. Coker Tire is in the business of creating vintage tires for restorations, etc. - maybe they have started doing spares for the older European makes. Worth a look?

 

Contact Porsche Dismantlers you can google them they would be your best bet.

 

I'd try Pelican Parts instead. Much more reputable. Their forum also has used parts from private owners.
