As of late I have been extremely interested in picking up an 89 944 for a track car but I need to find more information on them as far as after market companies that do/did good work with these cars and general info on the personality of this car when you are behind the wheel; So if you guys could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. I won't be picking one up for awhile but would like to do some research on the vehicle prior to outfitting it for track use.

Oh and since this is my 1st post I guess I should introduce myself a little bit. My name is Britt and I currently own a 96 estoril blue BMW M3 but I have always loved Porsche. This car would be my first Porsche and my fourth Bavarian automobile.

 

You can buy an 88.5 Turbo S which is identical to the 89 Turbo if it is selling for less than an 89 - just don't pay more for it being badged as a Turbo S since that became the standard specification on the 89s. There were also some 88.5 Turbo Ss on other colors other than Silver Rose. I sold my pre-88.5 Turbo 4 years ago and miss it very much. Serious bang for the buck and unparalleled usability! Just make sure it has been well cared for as it is expensive to bring up to spec and/or repair. Lindsey Racing has many parts and upgrades for the 951. Check them out.

 

Some performance shops you might wanna check out are Lindsey Racing and kokeln.

 

Also look at Vitesse, Speedforce. I purchased most of my mods from them and was very pleased with the quality
