The color looks great to me...but then again, I'm color blind. I guess that car and I belong together.

Yes this is very true. I am having mine converted to motronic for that reason, plus hugh HP

Your new 993 is stunning. The place where you bought it has some of the most beautiful examples of air cooled cars.

I was at Hergesheimer today. They mentioned the motronic. Is is a supercharger? How much HP does it give?

Thanks for the suggestions Louis. The ecu flash brings the hp from 282 to 298. Is this really noticable?

Motronic is electronic fuel injection. When Porsche built the 964 turbo series 3.3 and 3.6 due to its limited production and cost of adaptation they left the old CIS fuel injection system. This is a very complicated mechanical fuel delivery system. One (of many) of its major draw backs is its limited ability to deliver fuel at higher boost levels. Hence the issues of running much over a bar (lean condition). Motronic/EFI systems solve this problem and allow more fuel and better breathing through a Carrera intake.

The next issue is its cost of converting to EFI and possibly hurting the re-sale value of a 3.6. The 3.3 is a better platform to start with as the re-sale will not be hurt as bad (in some cases enhanced).

As for HP gains with EFI, it is limited to what you want to spend. I think Christian is pushing 550+ HP (at 1 bar) and my car was at 625+ (at 1.25 bar). I have a 3.4L (yellowbird specs) now with 7.5:1 compression (stock is 7:1). My goal is 700+ maybe going twin turbo. It is currently running single.

This seems to be beneficial only towards a turbocharged car. What about a NA one?
