2006 997 C2S Cabrio for 1990 964 C4???? Am I crazy???

Just wondering your thoughts and opinions.....I have been enamored by the air cooled 911's for a VERY VERY long time...and I really love the 964. I am seriously considering trading in my 2006 997 C2S Cab for a 1990 C4S Coupe. I am going to check the car out this weekend. I was just wondering if any of the other 964 aficionados here on this forum have ever done something like what I am thinking of doing, and if so, were there any regrets? Pros? Cons?
I really like my C2S cab, but after test driving 2 964's i have to say that the feeling was totally different, and to me, much more enjoyable than the 997....crazy huh?
I am hesitant only because I fear that an older car might turn out to be a maintainance nightmare, and might end up costing me big bucks for repairs and the like in the future. The car WILL be my daily driver, and I cannot have 2 cars. Any and all thoughts, advice, critiques, encouragements are welcome!!! I am having quite the dilemma here!!! Thanks in advance to all who reply!

nalukane is infamous around these parts
I have a 964 Cab and really enjoy. It is Porsche in the raw...nothing beats that air cooled sound. I also have a 997.2 C4S I bought after my 993 C4S was totaled. I certainly liked my 993 better. Every summer here in the NW the Cab becomes the daily driver and I always look forward to it. If you can have both but you will like the 964.

i am considering the same exact move myself - from my 997.1S to a 964. you say you're considering 'trading' your C2S for a 964 - are you saying that literally? if so, details/specs on each car would be necessary to determine the deal. i'm considering selling my C2S and then turning around and buying a 964 as a DD, like you. i'm also hesitant based on age, but more so about a good solid A/C system (for TX) and overall reliability. i have owned an RS America in the past ('93) and absolutely loved it, but my memories could be a bit on the romantic side. i still have to get out and drive 1 or 2 to make sure i still feel the same way, but the 997 is a bit 'too good'. plenty of power, handles well, but it's almost too accomplished and less than thrilling on the road. it's a wonderful car, but it just doesn't wow me as much anymore.
