Agreed. If you could only have one and plan on keeping it stock or only lightly modified, this is probably the best all-rounder there is.

 

I don't get it !!

1) The author wants all the Panamera ish comforts found in the new 991 but when it gets too comfortable he calls it boring ?

2) He talks about saving "80K " but fails to mention the enormous 20 percent price increase of the 991 compared to the outgoing 997 ?All of a sudden price matters ?

I do understand that he prefers the NA engine but I don't what I don't get is that neither the NA or the Turbo has it all . It would really take owning both to have a) straight line speed and b) seamless throttle and agility.

Personally -- as much as i like the 991 I do feel that it lacks something . The author states it too (" Ever since we first drove the new 991-series Carrera, it felt as if something was missing."). It's that sentence which (in my opinion) reveals mixed sentiment.

It almost seems like he's trying to fill the gap of the missing elements by saving money and buying a base or S 911 which is a nice car but isn't a great car .
