Cool! Very Cool!

But... what will its direct competitors do?
McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari (stupidest car name ever) will certainly beat it, at least that's what i suspect. It's still a great achievement, especially if it's done on a final stock settings.

They will be lighter, and more horsepower but not by a whole lot, and RWD.

I wonder if traction limitations will be the deciding factor.

Neither has the hybrid efficiency of the 918 nor the any-surface AWD acceleration either. It is an amazing car.

Can't stress this enough, the RING is a monster! Under 7mins on legal tires is EPIC. P1 did run the ring but was only able to time 7:04! too SLOW to release, McLaren going back to break the 918 time. Good luck Woking ;0)

4WS-4WD-ride height n optimize use of KERS along with HANG ON.........rumored 920hp for the 918 Spyder achieved the record breaking time! 918 is a game changer

If this is indeed true, that means that the 918 not only is better looking (subjective I know), but also faster! Add the fact that you can actually have the car serviced practically anywhere in the world, that makes the 918 the fastest no-nonsense hypercar in the world.

Anyone has any info on the LaFerrari ring time?

Doubt if Ferrari runs the ring with maranello backing. They only release times (subjective) from their home track. only time you will get at the ring is from a customer LaFerrari.........at only 499 produced n around $1.5mil for it (appreciating as I post) who in their right mind would risk it!

I think we will see the new tts do under 7.20 when fitted with semi slicks. Will appear to be a bargain next to the 918.
