I did consider a lightly used one. But for the following reasons I went with the Porsche.

I have never owned a Porsche before but have always wanted to.

Having previously owned a Ferrari I am familiar with the experience. For this car I wanted something I could drive every day without dealing with the inevitable exotic car issues.

The Porsche dealer is close to me, the Ferrari dealer is not.

The Porsche is less identifiable and garners less attention.

For this amount of money I couldn't see writing the check for a used car.

I got the Porsche exactly like I wanted. For a used 458 I would have to take someone else's build choices.
