I bought the silver one at Park Place

It was a great EOM deal at $157k.

Here are some pics in front of my daughter's house in Plano.

It has Burmester, adaptive cruise, sunroof, about $10k options with a $192k invoice for MSRP.

Then the first owner added a 9500ci installation, FVD exhaust with the 200 cell cats, love the sound and the extra 25hp and then it has a clear bra front, back and sides.

That FVD exhaust sounded aggressive. Very nice car and well optioned-Enjoy. Did you already make it back to Austin in it?

Awesome Turbo S-- I have a question...or two...

Hey great buy on your Turbo S. I was eyeing this car just a day too long apparently. Out of curiosity what was disclosed about the front/rear collision as indicated in one of the major automobile record sites? Were any repairs performed on the car?

Whenever I see this I tend to stay away from a car, but at least it is good that you had disclosure. I once visited a Turbo in NY that had no such disclosure but it had visible damage to its rear bumper. There were 5" long spider cracks on one location. The car drove like a charm-- what a car! Anyway, I stayed away from that car and so I am still turbo-less.

Please share how it drives, too!

I queried about this pretty carefully. It's on the Carfax and they only subtract $950 for it. Apparently when the original owner had it in for some work, one of the porters managed to damage both the front and rear end, not major damage but enough they decided to replace the bumpers instead of repairing them. So it got new bumpers then because the exhaust was scratched, the owner decided to put on the FVD. Anyway, I am more than compensated in the price for that. I am getting a $200k package for $157k and 3k of mileage depreciation.

I like the way it drives and sounds. Getting to know it still, no place to really test the limits but I will in due time.

Bumper Deja Vu!

Wow, what you described about your bumper(s) is exactly what was discovered with a 2014 Turbo that I almost purchased in NY. The owner replied via phone that his porter attempted to push the Turbo with his knee placed on the bumper in order to move it a few feet in the garage. The force of this maneuver created a spider web of cracks that looked raised on the bumper's surface when the bumper returned to its natural shape. I was being too fickle but the deal was not nearly as good as yours. They were asking $153k for a $165k MSRP Turbo with less than 1700 miles and that was in May, 2014.

Well played and thanks for sharing. It sounds like the bumpers' fragility may be an area of caution for Turbo owners.

I had seen the car several times. The repairs were done correctly and the paint work matched the factory. As for the turbo at 153k, I got mine for less brand new with a 162 MSRP.

Did you end up pulling the trigger on a new TT or TTS?

Idk 157k from 192k is pretty damn good.

WRS got a great deal on a Turbo S

I am talking about Carjunky's remark on the TT "They were asking $153k for a $165k MSRP Turbo with less than 1700 miles and that was in May, 2014."

Sorry for the confusion. At 12k off a TT with damage and 1700 miles it does not seem like that was a deal. A leftover can be had for less depending on the market.

I walked away with eyes wide open

You are right this was not a great deal although initially it seemed like one. It was one of the first well-optioned used TTs offered in the low 150's. If the car was located in my back yard I might have pursued the deal but the car was in need of bumper repair (see photo below). I chose to walk away because the dealer offered to just paint the bumper. At this price point that was not good enough for me.

I learned a lot on that trip but I am still looking for my unicorn before I am forced to order one. For me the unicorn is a black, silver or blue TTS coupe over black/red leather, Burmester, glass sunroof, rear wiper, and 5-lug wheels! I love the look of the center locks but they are too impractical.

If I can find my '14 unicorn at less than the price of a new '15 TT with the same options (sport chrono and LED headlights added) to the above, then I will be as happy as you are in your great deal from Park Place!

Carjunky- better to walk away if you were not going to get exactly what you want at this price point. I absolutely love that red/black interior. I will keep my eyes out for such a unicorn on the forums and car buying sites.

PS I had to go to Rusnak in Pasadena to get a deal.

This one sat at Autobahn for over a month asking 159 with 1600 miles on a 185 MSRP. It's a Turbo with mahogany trim, Burmester, glass sunroof and CCB so it's been optioned up to an S but lacks 40hp. I think maybe that is why it took a while to sell. I wanted it but just wasn't ready to pull the trigger two months ago. It's not your unicorn but it's an example of what's out there.

If I were you I would regularly check Porsche of North Houston, they have some good used Turbos come through and plenty of current year models. They usually start off ta 10% off list or close to it.

There is a new 14 black TTS with red/black interior siting in Autobahn Fort Worth. Talk to Bob Hall. He is awesome. I am sure you could get 6% or more as it has been there a month.
