Just wondering since my car came with the FVD high flow cats and exhaust I thought it would make sense to get the headers when I get the GIAC tune. I was wondering if I am the only one with FVD stuff here and if anyone did have it please let me know what you think.

 

I looked them up and the build quality looks like a$$. The welds are sloppy and not even ground down well at the flanges. While the price was good, I wouldn't spend my cash on them. The Fabspeeds aren't equal length but look much better built. GMG looks the best but cost over 50% more.

Patrick, Our headers are manufactured by the same supplier (M&M Exhaust, GmbH) that make the current RSR, Cup R, German Cup and SuperCup headers for the boys in Weissach. There is plenty of material on the welds because they are made to last. We are not interested in entering a welding beauty contest to get long lasting performance out of the cars. Pretty little machine made welds tend not to last at races like the 24 hours of Nurburgring, 24 of Daytona and the 12 of Sebring. Put on the headers, IPD Plenum and FVD piggyback instead of the GIAC tune and turned a 10.571 @ 129.5 on an uphill quarter. It got 10.78 @131.2 on a more flat quarter without launch control so the 60ft was 1.86s. On the 10.571 the 60ft was 1.59s.

I will be taking it out to my flat mile location on Friday to put down some even better numbers. This car is DAMN FAST with the four mods I have. When I bought it, the previous owner had already installed the FVD "sound exhaust" with the high flow cats.

Just want to say, the FVD parts have made nice difference in my car.
