I did Euro Delivery on my 2015 TT Cab and it has finally made it back to the states! My wife and I had an unbelievable trip. We picked up the car in Zuffenhausen on September 19th and dropped it back off on September 30th. We drove down into the Black Forest, Switzerland, northern Italy and finally back to Stuttgart for departure. It was an amazing experience that I highly recommend to anyone. My wife and I have 3 kids, so it was a stress reliever as well to get alittle break!

We were lucky enough to drive on the Black Forest highway, Susten-Furka-Grimsel passes. We also hit Stelvio in Italy. The weather was stunning, was able to drive all these with the top down, actually got a tan! They are amazing drives that are highly recommended. I know people don't agree, but Stelvio is stunning and a lot of fun to drive; we went midweek and it was empty!

Making the trip even better was that my wife gave lectures for a few days in Milan, so most of the trip was payed for! We mixed in a lot of spas on this trip, my wife wasn't enjoying the nude thing too much around others, but it don't bother me! We also met some friends in Stuttgart for Canstatter Volkfest and finished off the trip with some good beer!

In summary, everyone should do this at some point. It's such a great time and beats a rental!

Unreal, man. Beautiful car! I really love how the convertible top is so taut and matches the roofline of the coupe. At my income level I had to choose between a 991S cab or a 991TT coupe to make the budget work and keep the options I wanted. Someday I'll get into a TT Cab! Thanks for sharing.

very beautiful and I had always wanted to do a euro delivery, one day it will happen. Were you able to keep the car under the recommended 4000rpm while breaking in the car?

Thanks! As for the break in period, at delivery I asked about it. I was told to take it easy for the first few hundred miles, no launch control for 500 miles, then after that just wait until the engine is warmed up and have fun! I simply followed that rule.

On the autobahns I was only able to get up to 140mph, my wife started to get a little freaked out so I backed off, at least when she was paying attention! There's so much traffic and construction around Stuttgart it's hard to get long high speed runs.

Odd isn't it. It's very obvious that North America has a different break in recommendation then the rest of the world. Others who have done ED have also commented on this as well. No doubt this is due to our rather litigious ways over here- that's the only rational reason I can assume.

Patrick, what did you end up choosing? Can't really go wrong with either!

Congrats on the new turbo cab! Euro delivery - tip entered into 'must do' list!

Lucky! Your wife lectured for only a couple of days. My wife doesn't take any days off!

Pic 5 of 7. Someone sunk the castle.

One of the more fun things we did on our trip was to go down the Hasenhorn Coaster in Todtnau. It was a blast! It's over a mile long, and the drive there through the mountains was amazing!

When my wife was lecturing in Milan, I disappeared to Maranello and Modena to see the Ferrari and Maserati museums. Worth the drive.

Well, I really love driving my wife's '14 MB E550 with the twin turbo V8. I kept thinking if I could get that kind of power and torque in my Boxster I would be a very happy man. It finally occurred to me that the 991 TT was almost exactly that. In the end my hunger for HP and Torque won over my hunger for top down motoring so I got this 991 TT coupe.

Ah, I remember now! That is going to be a great car, nice build! Kept the white gauges? Garnet looks great, you will love it. The torque on these turbos is just so intoxicating. My kids are little and love driving with the top down, so getting another cab for me was a no brainer. It doesn't sound as good as the NA cars, but after owning a 991 S I can tell you it's really hard to wring out the power in public. The NA flat sixes require such high rpms to feel quick, but man do they sound good! Enjoy yours as well!
