Saw the Turbo S style wheels on the new 911 GTS today, and I'm a big fan. Wish I had that matte black finish on my wheels, and am now thinking about having them refinished! Sounds crazy, but they look much better than the stock S finish in my opinion. Has anyone had any experience refinishing these wheels? My thoughts of buying HRE/Vorsteiner/etc wheels completely vanished when I saw these today... Oh, and everything you have read about the GIAC Stage II ecu update is true. Thing is ridiculous....

 

I don't agree at all. I prefer a bit of polished aluminum on my wheels, but to each his own. You should try matte black plastidip on them to see how you like them, then you have the option to "try before you buy", so to speak. Easy to revert back if you find you don't like them after living with the color change a while.

 

That doesn't sound crazy at all. The first thing I'm going to do when I get the car home is put it on a lift and ship out the wheels. I was originally going to go with a black finish like the wheels on my current 981 BS but decided on a bronze paint instead. My 991 will be black and I've always liked the black car, gold-ish wheels look. I settled on a BMW color called Sepang Bronze.



I also like this Mini color called Hot Chocolate.

those look great! Having the exact same done to mine. found a set of new take offs on eBay and sent them out to powder coat. If price is no option, look at the black ones that come on the GT3--holy crap those are some sexy bitc&e$!!

 

I like them both! Each are designed for the look of each model. The GT3 aero I like a lot more though. Also the polish Aluminum on TTS work with the clean CCBs.
