Any advice on which torque wrench, breaker bar and wheel guide would be appreciated. I do not like to loosen fasteners with a torque wrench. Old aircraft maintainer habit...
In the video it looked like he had two of the large "sockets." One for the breaker bar and one for the torque wrench. I know that one comes in the tool kit supplied with the vehicle, do I need another one?
Thanks,
Patrick

I got a Precision Instruments 200-600 ft. lb. torque wrench and a Titan 1000 ft. lb capacity 40" breaker bar on Amazon. Got a 3R Racing mount/dismount guide from the company and Castrol aluminum paste from the Porsche parts dept. I know that the wrench and mounting guide as well as a breaker bar are available at the Porsche parts dept, but having items shipped from Amazon within two days and paying with AMEX points was far more convenient for me. I did not use a brake depressor, as my gf held the break and the steering wheel, but if you are solo you need a break depressor. Yes, the car comes with one socket so next time I'll get another, as switching between the torque wrench and breaker bar was a nuisance. Definitely should not use the torque wrench for loosening the hub. Also, be sure to mount the torque wrench extension for clockwise use, otherwise it will not click when you reach the right setting of 443. I had to get a 6' length of galvanized steel pipe to get enough leverage on the breaker. With the extension it took only moderate pressure of one hand to loosen the hub. The manual specifies the sequence for torquing so you will be switching between the torque wrench and breaker. Again, the toughest part of the job was removing the aluminum paste from my hands. After the first one or two wheels, you may not need the mounting guide, but better safe than sorry, as there is very little clearance for the front discs. The process should be a piece of cake for you given your aircraft experience.
Thanks! Are most folks using the C4D600F torque wrench? I saw one last night that broke down into three shorter pieces and had a plastic carrying case. I can't find it again to save my life. Does anyone have that one and can comment on where they found it?
