Change power folding mirror to sport design - problem?

Looking at a couple cars out there right now, found a couple good deals but they have power folding mirrors and I prefer sport design. I talked to the local body repair shop that does really good work on Porsche. They quoted about $1,000 to switch out mirrors (parts and labor) but they were not sure if there would be a compatibility issue. Will the lack of the connection to the power folding component throw a fault error? Will the hard wiring of the mirror for functionality to control mirror itself still be compatible and work? I know the sport design mirrors would no longer be "power folding". Anyone have experience with the change that can comment?

Working with the driver mirror, pulling apart connectors while the circuits are live/battery still connected, and checking with a scan tool after putting everything back together, I would have to say yes. (I've done this once so not 100% sure.) If I find otherwise this morning I'll post again....

I'm guessing the OP has made other arrangements. After 4 years and all...

Wow, I did not notice that! Yikes!!! Thanks for the heads up.

There were errors but not from the door actually. Still sorting out what all the codes mean so not 100% sure about that. (Part of the reason I didn’t post).
