2016 TTS changes
I heard the 991 TT and TTS in the 991.2 trim expected in '16 would get a large power bump since all 911 variants were going turbo and the base 911 would have 400 hp and 911 S 500.
I spoke to two dealers and they of course said they didn't know of anything but of course they won't say anything they want to sell you a 2015.

I don't believe the 991.2 is happening for model year '16.
they are available to order for delivery in August.
they aren't announcing the 991.2 until Sept.
plus the .2 is usually 3 years after the initial launch, which would be '17.
also, my dealer was trying hard to get me to order a '16 build instead of buying a CPO '15 at another dealer.
so if he had any inkling about a huge power bump he certainly would have let me know.

Yeah it would make no sense for Porsche to do that. I would expect a small hp/tq increase like in the past but not into the power range of the turbo.

The new turbo 2.7 and 3.4 liter engines will probably be less than a 5% increase in power so I would surmise the base of 350 to 375 hp and the S from 400 to 420 hp. And prob the powerkit from 430 to 455 hp.
Gents - I think there is a lot of strange information on this. Here's what I got from my dealer. I've got a '14 Panny TT that I want to swap for a '15 991 TTS. My dealer said that the changes won't take place until later this year for early '16 delivery. He doesn't have a list of changes, but I do think that that Porsche will need to up the game on the 991 TTS given the MB AMG GT and the McLaren 570s. Those are legit contenders and the MB has a good price advantage.
Sounds about right

Just my speculation to follow: Next model of the 911 for a few years from now will have to be lightened with a CF tub perhaps to offset the weight of batteries for what some have reported will be a hybrid twin turbo and electric power system with high 600 to 700 hp total output. Got to drop 200 lbs. or so from current model weight. Whatever mid-MY '16 or next body style will be the 0-130 mph performance will rock compared to the most direct competition. Also around 2017-18 there is very likely to be a mid-engine 8 cylinder twin turbo Porsche (960 or 913 designation?) to compete from a performance perspective with the 488, Huracan and other MC's.
I have a buddy who took EU delivery here in Canada, of a 2016 TTS - which I saw last week (delivered in early April). It's the same car as the 2015.
I have my 2016 TTS coming in late July and from what I have seen and been told, there are no changes over the 2015.

My '16 TT has started building and will jump on a ship at the end of June.
Confirmed there is no new 918 Spyder steering wheel. Only the normal Sport Design one. The standard/options look pretty identical to '15 version.

I would not expect any major change until the next Gen which will probably the 2018 model which is ( only )2 years away. there may be some minor body changes and a small bump in HP but I don't think there will be a 991.2 The 997.2 had major changes, I love my 991 TTS but also can't wait to see what porsche has up its sleeve.
