Just put the 991TT above hypercar territory in the 1/4 mile category.

Truly Epic!

Thank you very much guys.

We haven't dynoed the car yet, but i guess the power is about 700 whp with current mods.

The transmission is also stock, havent touched it yet.

700 wheel HP and stock PDK wow. Are you getting any slippage at all? I was told that the PDK a limit of 650-675 wheel HP. Sounds from your experience that it is actually higher

The fuel system has that limit.

Not the PDK.

The 997 PDK had a low limit but the new one is much better so i've heard.

I don't think anyone has found the limit of the 991 PDK.

I was told by one of the leading tuners out there that the PDK's limit is 650-675 bhp and that the 991 TT/TTS's fueling limit is considerably higher than the 997.2 TT/TTS.

On the cases of "limits" it will never be a 100% awnser, it will always be a estimate... To many variables on the table

you sure you didn't mix those up?

I remember hearing the exact opposite.

Was this at Yas Marina? Did they ever get their NHRA certification back? Not to take away from what is obviously a fast car, but without proper certfication, not sure how accurate the time and traps are.

Again - super fast car. Congrats

They have not renewed since 2012

I hate to be 'that guy' to take these times into question but VBOX results on the same track would be much better.

Thanks,

My performance box results are often 3-5mph different on trap speed than what the track measures and these are NHRA certified tracks. I kind of think I would rely more on fixed sensors a few feet from the car than I would a radio signal broadcast from 22,000 miles up with a 95% CEP of +- 10ft. A car moving at 145mph is covering 212ft/s. The trap measurement is the last 66ft and on a 10hz Vbox that would give three samples about 21ft apart with a 10ft position error per sample to make a trap speed estimate from. First problem is where do the three samples fall with respect to the final 66ft? The second is the position error in the samples. The samples are spaced evenly in time but not distance and with the track, it's just the opposite. Thus, using a numeric differentiation technique to produce velocity from distance will produce different results due to this variation in data used. The real trap speed can only be gotten from the track, the Vbox information is only at best a rough estimate. With respect to ET's, it's a lot less probable that the Vbox sampling error will be noticed due to the distances and time involved. I trust the Performance Box on ET and 60 ft times but not trap speed at such high velocity. Obviously the 20hz version of the Vbox would suffer less error but the problem is the same with respect to where the samples fall and the error in them. In fact, at 20hz, the samples should be about 10ft apart at that speed but that is within the margin of error in the tool itself so the data is useless.

These runs were done in Bahrain Internatioan Circuit,
its the track where Arabian Drag will be hosted in about 1 month time.

Next time i will have VBOX DBN file, so you can see.

If you take a look at our previous 9.62 run, you will see we have gone

0-62mph in 2.2sec and 62-124mph in 5.2. on the strip.

Show me another car does these times and go about 10sec in the strip.

Anyway, for the non-believers, pbox data will follow up next time.

Congrats Emre. Can you please do a vBox next time? We have only one similar car here in the US (Efi's 997.2 GIAC/Champion FBO with 68's and meth) which trapped 137-138mph on a favorable East Coast track with low density altitude.
