My Top 5 991 TT/S Bolt On Mods
The 991TT/S platform has been out since late 2013 and becoming obtainable to a lot of new buyers. I wanted to put together a go fast list of tried and true bolt ons that will allow one to excel up the performance ladder (relatively inexpensively) yet truly keep stock day to day look and character. I wasn't able to find this consolidated list when I became a new owner but have gained considerably with each.
My first three are really a trifecta as I feel they could easily each qualify as a number one on this list! 1) IPD Y Pipe and Plenum 2) Kline Exhaust 3) Cobb Access Port 4) By Design Intercoolers 5) New 65's in stock housing There, I said It..... Happy Motoring! |
All my favorites as well. Can't wait for the VTGs with the new housings!

Excellent list of mods. I pick my car up today following a few upgrades and can't wait to hear it, drive it, then flash to Cobb stage 3. :)

Im interested in the iPD parts.
I've had trouble quantifying what they're good for, power wise. Certainly folks have said they're worth 10-20hp or lb-ft and others have said its something they can feel (which honestly 10-20hp isnt with 560 already under the belt). Wouldn't Porsche design the original parts optimally? There are downsides to increasing the system volume post-turbo (spool), so perhaps Porsche felt throttle response would degrade if they ran bigger diameter tubing? Before spending $1500-2000 on those two items, it would be good to have some very specific data. |
This is a really good and sometimes common question. It really can apply to pretty much every single component of the car. We can upgrade anything hilarious there is definitely a science to it and proof is always in the pudding. I've done several tests along side my customers proving this product on all the Porsche platforms. Guys who are skeptical of it. I would be willing to offer you 100% guarantee on it knowing that you will love it. As usual after many calibrations and dyno tests we have found the IPD components to really supplement the car at almost every level. Feel free to send me an email and I can forward you some tests. A customer request we have also done this at different stages just to see what it would do on its own. It's so good I bet you would feel it even before dyno verification! Also it's not 10-120...It's more like 40+ :D
Hope that helps. Good team gives good confidence! |
The IPD topic has been discused ad nauseam. The intent here is to filter and consolodate my top 5 bolt on mods for someone looking to filter out the noise and acheive the very best in bolt on results.

Then by all means... onwards.
You should probably close the thread to prevent any more noise. |
Actually, its good right here. You may want to use the search button for more indepth detail.

The forum can be been a blessing and a curse. Hopefully for someone willing to take the Daniel son tips and wax on - wipe off this will serve to fine tune the hunt and alleviate a bunch of heart aches. The burn through on things like hot air intakes, piggy back tunes, terrible exhausts, aftermarket Diverter valves, laggy and under performing turbo upgrades, pretty yet useless y pipe intakes, extra injectors, super fuel systems, etc, etc, etc. can be painful...... |
Lol Yeah!!!

IC, exhaust, tune from Robtuned... 132mph trap on pump. Done.
