What up guys. I'm a sucker for all-wheel-drive turbo cars. This one goes about it much differently tho. Battery in the front, mid-engine 3cyl turbo with integrated assist battery, regenerative braking and a bunch of other cool tech stuff. Interesting driving experience for sure. No way can it even come close to the exhilaration of the 991 Turbo, but for just daily it's pretty fun.
It's a very niche car. No trunk. And the dihedral doors and carbon monocoque make getting in an out quite a challenge. There's a zillion negatives about this car and only a few positives. But it's the future. So I wanted a peek at what's to come.
Cheers.

The i3 has been almost 100% positives. We were on a list to get an i8 when they first came out but the time and the list kept extending into the future, so we got the 991 instead. I didn't mind the doors, although it sure *isnt* easy getting in and out.
I agree. It's the future, and we might as well get comfortable with our future overlords.
It's definitely a cool daily, especially if you can charge for free at work. Also, they get a LOT of attention.

There's a few of them that have been sitting for a while so bmw is now subsidizing to get them moved.

Sam if you can come up with a reliable Stage 4 turbo upgrade package for this car, I'm a buyer!

Apparently there's one company doing a stage 1 flash already in the states - Velos Designwerks. Adding another 50 hp/tq. You ever heard of these guys Sam?

Congrat and welcome to the club. I've been driving an i3 for almost 2 years now. Absolutely love the thing. So much so I'm getting another one when the lease is up in April. I wanted the i8, but to be honest, I can't get in and out 😀
