488 vs Tuned TTS to Monterey
Thanks for sharing the video. Love the TT/S but that 488 is on a different level!
Over in F Chat have people put the 488 on a dyne yet? The stock numbers are 660/561and it is about 200-250 lbs lighter than the TTS. Are they underrated? The car at speed pulls away easily.

Yeah, this was a from roll at 40 mph in second gear. I think it would have been worse from 1st gear. We followed each other for hours, and the first thing my son said when we stopped for lunch is, "it wont be a race dad, you pull away like I'm in neutral every time you got on it"

I'm not confused about that fact that there all several TTS's on this forum that will crush the 488, especially from a dig. But I'm still impressed with what Ferrari has accomplished with their new platform.
I've attached 3 video's for your pleasure. Keep in mind that these were all taken at an off road airfield event. The first video (just as a benchmark) is my tuned TTS against a 2016 Hurancan with race exhaust. The 2nd and 3rd video's are my tuned TTS against my stock 488. In both roll races against my TTS, I let my son driving the TTS get the jump. In each one of these races the TTS was floored when I floored the 488, and notice how quickly the 488 jumps ahead. It keeps pulling hard until I was 15 car lengths ahead when we let off the throttle.
Based on what I saw, and how hard the 488 pulled, I think the previous thread of a race between a tuned TTS against a 488 shot from a drone was pretty accurate. Nobody can believe the 488 is that fast, but it is!!!
As an aside, did I mention how much I love the exhaust sound. After 800 miles of driving this weekend, both in the car, an outside the car when my son was driving the 488, it sounds crazy good. I know I'll be flamed, but to my ears it's every bit as good as my 458, and in some cases even better.

Your 488 is an absolute monster! Do any dig runs? On an airstrip surface where the 991 absolutely shines, the outcome could be switched if the 488 can't get off the line quick enough I suppose. So it's good that you did roll runs to show that the 488 can do at speed. So impressive.

We know each other, so I can say this. When I stepped out of the 488, and into the my TTS, the TTS felt slow and docile. What's more astonishing is that I would usually follow that statement by talking about how much easier and smother the TTS is to drive, especially on a daily basis. Not any more! This is one of the things hard core Ferrari guys criticize. The 488 is even easier to live with after hours in the seat than the TTS is. I think Ferrari did a really good job getting the balance right. Truly a remarkable car.
PS, it should be for what it cost
Hey Adam, couldn't get a run from a dig. No doubt that the TTS will kill the 488 from a dig. In both races I let the TTS get the jump and was blown away by how fast the power came on in the 488. After spending 400 miles behind the wheel of both cars, the 488 definitely has more usable power throught the range in every gear and every situation.

And btw..thx to you I guess I need to go all the way to Stage 4 with the TTS-LOL!
Very welcome! I sold the 675LT because I have a 675LT Spider on order. Honestly, it is WAY more fun to drive than the 488 GTB...hands down. Like a go kart with a rocket engine. Will leave it in the dust. The 650 is more fun in it's own way too...again...go kart-ish. I've had a 12C spider and two 650S spiders and the 675LT...ALL amazing cars...the RUSH they give you is nuts..ESPECIALLY the 675LT. I never once got int at car and didn't go "wow". I just don't have that warm feeling about McLaren as a company at this point. Seem to just keep producing new model after new model...650S are sitting around everywhere even though production was decreased. P14 coming that is a total revamp. Let's just say "nothing depreciate like a McLaren" and I'm a little over it...for now. Most fun cars ever. If the rest of the pieces come together with them later and things stabilize I may go back...
The 488 is such a NICER all around car and MILES above the MACs in quality. I'm sticking with Ferrari.

Speaking of dust.

Seems these super cars just get faster and faster as you go up in the food chain.
Turns out I ended up liking the 488 for more than speed...which it has enough of.
I actually have a 675LT spider due to arrive in 2 weeks. Not sure what to do...I don't think I can let my 488 go. It's just beautiful and so pleasurable to drive....also parts don't fall off and neither does the value
