How much clear bra? How much is the cost?

I was always against getting a clear bra.
Now I'm contemplating getting it for my Turbo.
I've seen the topic come up over the years, but the forum search is weak.

How much did you do to yours, do you like it, how much does it cost?

My local xpel installer wants about $2,000 for the front cap. ( hood, bumper, mirrors, and lights?) I'm reading it's common to charge about 1,000 so I think he's screwing people.

Have you ever had it removed because it started yellowing and cracking?

I never liked the idea because the film exceed the cost of a repaint, and the film doesn't exactly save you from a repaint in cases like a collision.

I hate swirls more than anything though, and I think the self heal variety may save me from a swirled up car.

Do it. Should be around $1,300-$1,500 from a good installer and get xpel

1500 is normal for good installer. That should
Include rocker panels too.

Your installer is right on the money for a full front end coverage. Full front (full hood, full fender, front bumper, headlights, and mirrors) run about 1895-2195 installed.

With XPEL ULTIMATE, it's warrantied for 10 years for yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining and delaminating, so there would be no worry about yellowing and cracking.

I didn't get a clear bra for my previous 997.2 C4; I kind of regretted not doing it after I got several rock chips in the bumper that were pretty deep - that I went and bought Dr. Colorchip touch up paint to fill them. And over the years, had to fill the other rock chips that invariably show up in a car that gets driven...

When we bought our Model S, I went straight and got a clear bra - full hood, full front fenders, front bumper. They also put film on the side view mirrors and the edges of the doors. I have been so happy with the outcome that when I got my 991.1 TT recently, I also got the full front treatment as well as tint. Looks beautiful..!

I'd worry more about installer skill than the price being a bit steep. Price does vary based on locale. The installer skill plays a big role in the long term durability and appearance of the coating.

Yellowing and cracking are more driven by sunlight/UV exposure.

My car is at Sunbusters right now getting the track pack for $2185. That's the front fenders, hood, bumper, lights, mirrors, rocker panels and rear wheel panels. There was already a tiny rock chip on the front lip. This stuff is self healing with a 10 year warranty against yellowing or cracking. It's called SunTek I think.

I had it on the TTS and it really did a great job protecting the car and keeping it looking good. On the Ferrari I certainly don't want any chips depreciating my new car, time will do that enough.

ETA: Pics of the final product. Forgive the fact it's not a P-car.

I am having this done shortly as well. My installer wants 2K for front and 1800 for the quarters as one piece of film extending to include the rockers and roof pillars. I will have paint correction first.

thank you. Orlando is a bit far (4 hours) but never know. My son goes to school at UCF but if I'm driving highway that far, defeats the purpose of the protection. Unless I can get him to come to me. 😜

Installers prefer Suntek because it is much easier to install then the thicker XPel . Personally I'm on team XPel. Wrapped
three cars and super satisfied.

Be sure to get it wrapped around the edges properly. The pre-cut stuff looks lousy when you can see the edge lines, and dirt and wax builds up in them making the edges more pronounced.
