Blackmill Performance Anti-Wind Buffeting Kit. Fits all 991 and 981 vehicles.

PRICE $130.00 Shipped domestically

RESOLVES interior wind buffeting while driving above 50 mph with open windows. This functional product is intended to maximize your driving experience around town and at the track. Eliminates all modes of interior wind buffeting within vehicles performance specification.

WIND BUFFETING has been found to occur with one or both windows open while the sunroof or top is closed (if equipped). The wind buffeting (booming effect) intensity increases significantly at higher speeds.

WORKS with standard folding and optional side view mirrors.

PRECISION cut, formed and finished black anodized aluminum. Highest quality pressure sensitive molding tape offers simple installation and reliability.

NO MODIFICATION or removal of factory vehicle parts required. Kit includes parts for driver and passenger side, installation instructions, prep pads and decal.

This is the first generation design from Blackmill Performance. The newest generation has an array of subtle changes.

Correct, no removal of factory parts. Very simple install.

I like it...but $ 130 is pretty steep for a very simple part. At half that price I would buy them.

I am with the Doc on this one

Buffeting at track speeds is severe and very annoying. Cannot tilt or open the sunroof on the track or keep the windows closed. The piece at least is an easy install and I assume easy removal with some Googone, I would probably use them for track work, but not sure I would use them all the time. The other deflector is a very complicated installation, although from the photos looks more compatible and not just an add-on piece. If the FS piece came with additional adhesive pieces and were more reasonably priced I would order a set. I understand the profit motive and design, manufacturing and inventory costs, but even at $130, much less the $169 on the maker's site, is a bit much. Just because Porsche's are high-priced cars does not mean that the owners are not cognizant of value.

Just curious, what track do you run on that lets you keep your windows UP ? I've been on a lot of tracks all around the country and there's not a one that I can think of where you can run with the windows UP, even in the rain. Sunroofs should be closed on track days, too. One less place for an arm to fly through in the event of a roll-over.

I like the ones by AWE a lot better. Cleaner looking, carbon fiber & only 30.00 more.

I just ordered a set for my soon (hopefully) to arrive Turbo S Cab.

I agree. I went that route as well. And they work great, too.

In my haste I wrote the opposite. At 120 mph + the buffeting is almost intolerable. I am not an engineer, but the open windows at speed seem to slow the car. Even at highway speeds the turbulence is very annoying.

The installation of the AWE piece seems involved, but I I get anything, it will be the AWE part.

I agree. The cheapest way to reduce the buffeting for me is to roll up the windows partially....seems to work ok for most highway speeds for me.

If this stick on deflector was way cheaper, I (and probably others) would get one. It would be better value for essentially a metal piece with a sticker on it. Good idea though!
