Deposit on 991 GT3
The 991 is really growing on me and I figure the 991 version of the GT3 will be a sizable upgrade to my 997.1 version so I'm on the top of the list at my dealer, now I wait, how long I don't know.
I hope they give it a back seat and save the elimination for track-pack options and the RS version. Not that I'd use it much, but my kids can fit there for a few years and it was the thing that kept me from pulling the trigger on a new 997 GT-3 several months ago. I'm in lower NY so which dealer is taking deposits so far in advance?

with that said, i expect the 991 gt3 to be a monster with a monster price tag.

I agree about the wait, probably a year to a year and a half but who knows.
Don't think it will have rear seats, goes against the GT series philosophy.
Hopefully it won't have monster price tag but i do expect an increase over the present version, hopefully the performance upgrade is in line or greater than the price increase.
I'm looking forward to hearing the real specs. but I'll probably have to wait a while for that too.
Legend Porsche in Long Island is my dealer, I've purchased numerous Porsche's and Audi's from them so I have a relationship there.

I do think there will be a fairly significant price increase. Look at the 911S. You are in the $120s with ease optioning a the right performance options; if you want to maximize its performance. Considering that, I think 991 gt3s will be $130k minimum to > $140k (w/PDK) for a properly optioned car whereas a .2 gt3 properly optioned was $118-$120k. RSs will be $20k more at least.
I have a .2 and am on the 991 gt3 list too. If the numbers work I'd option mine without PDK. Even at $130k, I think it's getting pricey. We will see.

1 1/2 years before we see a gt3 on a lot minimum. Maybe 2 years. Yeah, we may know facts and be able to order one a few months less than that.

I heard PDK will not be available on the GT3 but no one really knows yet, I want a manual anyway. Worst case i keep mine, not a bad alternative.

same here, no pdk for me.
I hope my guess is high, but it does make sense. I don't see a gt3 costing less than a properly equipped 911S (>$120K), otherwise, you would (wrongfully) see some cannibalizing of gt sales.
PDK, SC Plus (GT variety) and some other tech items will add $8-10k to the car, imo. Then add the desirables, full leather (for me), SPP, BT, etc. and I see $138k easily.
Base price could easily be >$122K or so. Think about how Porsche initially came out with the .2 @ $112.2K then mid-cycle made BT, iPod and something else standard whilst raising MSRP to $115k or so. The 991 gt3 could easily have standard options to justify (in PAG's mind) a $122-$125k base without appearing to be over the top. Then make the "required" performance options ~even w/o PDK~ add another $8 or $9k or even more. PDK and SC (GT) Plus and we're close to $140k.
Ditto on the worse case scenario. Maybe we wait for the 991 facelift 6-7 years from now to make our moves more meaningful. Your jump has better value than mine would have. Either way we have superb cars! I also think our prices will stabilize somewhat as the price gaps can only widen so much. And, where is the 996 gt3 going. I don't really see those being had in the $40k, so that offers a foundation for ours. Wishful thinking, maybe, but not unreasonable. A 991 gt3 costs anywhere near where I think they'll be, I don't see excellent example <15k mile, 997.2 3s falling below $90k even in three years.

One of the big guys, Preuninger or whomever, went on record recently stating that PDK would definitely be an option. The manual, however, is here to stay, yippie!!!

Where did you hear that?
I won't be happy it that's true.
Seems like a long time especially considering the model release schedule of the 997 series.
