Ahhh...Just Couldn't Wait

Well, it looks like I'll have a 991S by the end of next week.
I had planned to order it but didn't want to wait until mid-summer to get it. Plus, I went the worry-free route – decided to lease. Prepaid it up front, 36 months, 12,000 miles per year.

My dealer had three 991's in stock but none had Sport Chrono or full leather. However, he did find me a reasonably optioned car at another dealer and traded a future cab build to get it.

Here's what's coming:
991S
Dark Blue Metalic
Agate Grey Full Leather
Premium Package Plus
Power Sports Seats (14 way)
PDK
Sport Chrono Plus
Bose Audio Package
Sunroof
Multi-Function Steering Wheel
Colored Wheel Caps
Electric Folding Mirrors
Front/Rear Park Assist
Embossed Head Rests

There are a couple of options I could live without but on the whole, I'm more than satisfied. Let the driving begin!

Some people were wondering what leasing cost. Are you willing to share?

I am interested to hear the cost too, let us know,

This is gonna sound nuts but I'm not exactly sure.
It's a one-time payment...But it's under $67,000 out the door. MSRP was $119,585.
Probably paid too much, but frankly, I'm OK with that.
They bought by CLS55 and I had to come up with $37,000 in cash.
I'm not getting any younger so why the hell not.

Congratulations! You can't take it with you, so why not drive it? :D

For what it's worth, it looks like your lease numbers are pretty good. They didn't rip you off.

Do they offer a more interesting buyout against a paid in full lease? I would have seemed that you could buy with 30k down and the remainder would cover your first 3 years payments.

that is a nice build; i am interested in seeing the Agate gray having had a natural gray car. the dark blue is classic.

agree - full leather is a killer option - the standard S wheel is my favourite of the new choices

Thanks
Have only seen Agate Grey in photos so it'll be interesting for me, too. Did have natural grey leather in a Speed Yellow Boxster years ago. It was very dark, almost looked black. The quality and look of the leather was amazing. Wished they still offered it.
I'll try to post some photos after I get the car.

$67,000 for 36 mos. is $1,861.11 prepaid, so on a monthly payment you could assume it would be higher. Seems like a lot but you do have 12,000 miles per year.

I am curious what happens on a prepaid lease like this in the case of a totaled car. When I used to lease cars I always tried to only put down a security deposit and first months payment, and have gap insurance. That way if the car was totaled (never happened, never even had a bad accident) I would not loose any cash payment/principle reduction. if the car you lease it totaled and the insurance only pays the depreciated value what do you get, the difference between the residual value and the settlement?

Congrats, I hope to be getting mine at the same time - but, unlike you I did not have the sense to go get one - mine is the result of waiting. And I can't complain either, I only waited 2 months. Your new 991 should be great! :)

If your car gets totaled or stolen, you are out of luck and lose all that money. Thats why you suld not ut a lot of money down on a lease.

I used to have a commission only job so i would lease and put down a lot of money to keep the payments small. Then my car got stolen. I no longer put money down

Leases are great with these cars; had 2 major accidents in mine (non fault) and they take the car back without any penalties. Would be toast if I owned it! Highly recommend the full lease payout if you have the cash, best of the leasing options rather then put money down. Only issue can be the high interest rates.

by the sounds of it, this may be a Canadian thing - i think it also only holds for first 24 months here & then they start hitting you.

Ya I am in a 24 month lease - don't know what it is, maybe just bad luck. I am a paranoid parker now and even then someone managed to clip my rear bumper again yesterday on Spadina!!

Thats 3 hits - I am not fixing this one, very tiny scrape and will use the safe lease option on the car to repair when I return it in December.
