An eventful second day....
An eventful second day....
The wife and I decided to take our 991 sc cab out for a spin this afternoon.
I couldn't believe all the stares, honking horns and whistles!
You see, here in south western Ontario Porsches are a rare sight.
I used to get a similar reaction with my cayman r, but nothing like this.
Finally, on our way home we ended up at a traffic light, and a white Honda accord pulled up next to us. I noticed the driver staring at our vehicle and thought nothing of it. When the light turned green he floored the gas, squealed his front tires a little bit and took off. I drove casually to the next red light where I met up with him again. I couldn't believe this hot shot! He was revving his engine trying to antice me to race. I just pulled the switch to open the convertible top and him and his buddies watched in amazement as the convertible top neatly tucked itself away. The driver looked at me in awe, smiled and gave me a huge thumbs up as he turned non chelantly at the intersection.
The wife and I just laughed, and thought what a way to end this very pleasant drive...

I had similar experiences today on my short drive on the highway. People were either driving real fast behind me to have a look or actually doing a full turn around in cars in front of me. Got a few thumbs up from fello porsche drivers as well. I think most of the attention maybe because the 991 is still not readily seen on the road.
Everyone stares at every light or intersection. I have caught many people with cameras taking pictures of my car whether i'm in it or it's parked. Seem to get into a conversation with at least one person every time I fill it up. It's a beautiful car, and racing yellow is a great look
Isn't this great! I have the same things to report almost daily. It can't last as, with porsche's sales figures, there will be plenty of company in the future. But for now, I a, going to enjoy it!

I think I am envious of all the attention people are getting in their new 991.
There are now 3 991s on my street, all 3 dark blue metallic!
I can think of at least 7 911's that live within a radius of 2 blocks.
I am lucky if I get the occasional inquiry now from other owners asking simply, "Is this the new one?".

He didn't like how I was driving my 991 one day and he silently passed me in a rage. Not really the same effect as my PSE.

The 991 IMO is by far the sexiest rear end on a Porsche since the factory widebody's on the 964 etc. I'm not sold on the front yet, need to see the GT versions with upgraded fascia first. The headlights look really far apart and it looks really round instead of aggressive in the front.
But still the best looking 911 in a long time. This is the first time I've felt like I just have to have one in terms of a 911.
