Resistance is futile...so I picked up a 991 S cab
I don't like the fastback look of the 991. It's just personal preference. The Cabby version of the 991 though totally eliminates this issue I have with the car. The 991 Cabby looks awesome. Congrats to you!
Sweet. Did you order your car? Because this cookie cutter build usually comes with Sports Design wheels.
In my own opinion, I feel it's a big improvement because it feels more stable on high speed corners where the road is uneven. No more rocking from side to side.
Also, PTV and PDCC eliminate the front end push on this tight right hand corner that I take everyday to work. I can't say what the track performance is like, but for street driving, it is indeed a big improvement. I could imagine it will be even better for the coupe since the cab version has only 77% torsion rigidity of the coupe.

i have a thread where i talked bout it. You have test driven the 991; you must have noticed how it doesn't pound like the last version but still stiffens the car like the old one
I didn't notice much difference on the roads around here, which are of decent to good quality. But then I've never really minded a firm ride anyway, particularly in sports cars.
A lot of it depends on the road. It the road is just bad and bumpy I have a hard time leaving my PASM on, but on good roads even the 997.2 version is nice. It still never ceases to amaze me the lack of body roll in these cars when you hit a turn hard...and I drive a Caby!
firm - what are you talking about. there is not a review out there on the prior versions of PASM that don't conclude it is pretty much a bone crusher on anything but the best of pavement.
i just don't know how you could have test driven & not noticed: beyond me?
We must be reading different reviews then, because the reviews I've read all praise the daily drivability (include ride quality) with or without PASM. And I've had my share of luxury cars, so I do know the difference.
My came with the sport design wheels also but I had the dealer swap them out for me with another car - personal preference. It's a beautiful car and now I cannot wait to run it through its paces to the best of my ability. Enjoy it!
