Inside of rear wheel rubbing on carwash

OK, I know I am going to get blasted for washing a 911 in an automatic carwash. So let me get defensive right off the bat. I drive 20k per year. I live in Wisconsin so my car always is dirty. And I have no time to spend washing my car 2X a week. There is a really nice soft touch carwash close by. Seems to a good job without damaging the paint on my previous cars. And it is a lease.

So now that I have that out of the way.

Is the front and rear track all that different? The inside of the rear wheel rubs really hard on the track. It is causing this awful tire against metal rubbing sounds. It is not the size of the tire because my last car had significantly larger rear tires. Thinking I may have to put 5mm spacers on the rears.

Thoughts?

M

Another member here had a BAD experience in an auto car wash. Not only chewed up inside his rim but took chunks out of tire as well. You may want to check that at this point!

Thank you.
Definitely will look. Wonder why this would happen. I have had number wide tired cars and no issues.

mcsha is infamous around these parts
If i remember correctly SM_ATL has pictures of the inside of his wheel getting damaged and also a gash on the tire he discovered on track pre-check that he believed was caused by automated carwash.

Easy as pie, find another drive through wash that doesn't have the railings.

never use a auto drive through wash with rail or anything that is there to damage your tires and wheels. I use them but I only go to the ones that are completely touchless (with sensors to tell you where to stop and wash). I also had bad experience with railed auto wash which damaged my very regular mazda rims long time ago.
