Fabspeed 991 build (Techart/H&R/etc)

as some of you may remember, a few months ago a good customer let us borrow his brand new 991 C2S for product development... initially he just wanted an exhaust but soon after we picked the car up, he started looking through magazines and getting ideas

From what my techart rep tells me this was the very first 991 techart kit in the country, while all other dealers were waiting for their orders to arrive, we were painting and installing ours! After the Lip it and spoiler was painted and installed we realized the wheel gap was horrible, Noah at the Tire Rack came through with a set of H&R lowering springs in a matter of days for me, we also put on clear corners, lightly tinted the rear lights, and gave the car a full detail.

Fabspeed parts include: Headers with 200cel HJS racing cats, center muffler bypass x-pipe, side muffler bypass pipes, X-51 style tips (ceramic coated black), along with a carbon fiber competition intake. on the accessory side of things we developed a harness bar, track mats, a go-pro mount and carbon fiber bumper protectors..

I will let the pictures speak for themselves, however we will be doing a full write up on each part later on.

how the car arrived:

the stock setup:

the tear down:

center muffler bypass (resonated):

side muffler bypass with tips:

carbon fiber intake:

techart kit:

any questions, please dont hesitate to call/email/PM/etc.

Dave:
How much weight does the carbon fiber intake save? Is there any HP increase?

Very nice from the side view it resembles a GT3. Minor change I would suggest is adding spacers to to wheels.

So the exhaust set up is headers with sport cats followed by straight pipe? Must be quite loud...

Can't wait to hear it... hint... hint...

Duck tail + Spoiler is overkill, but that's just my personal tastes.
Nicely done.

Question though, with the tight packaging in the rear end how does the open element intake manage to now inhale gobs of hot air and heat soak.

+1!!!
I have not seen other alternatives available yet regarding the intake. Any numbers, measurements, design specs you can share?

Thx!

EDIT: I checked your website and it looks like this is the 997.2 intake slightly adapted for the 991 (opening closed and different shield) and is already up for sale (for $100 more than the 997.2). The 997.2 part had impressive before/after dyno numbers.
Do not take me wrong, a newly developed product -with no competition- is certainly worth more and I would love to add this part to my mods, but the fitment on the above pics does not seem as good as what I would like and I am not sure that the filters will be positioned at the best place (speculating here). Is it your intention to get the CF Y-pipe adapted to the specific 991 dimensions and to go for a CF finish for the shield as you seem to do for the 997?

Thanks!

I didn't realize that you can get in the engine compartment by removing the wing (easier than the entire bumper). So with that, one more question. After these intakes are installed, can the filters be replaced without taking off the rear bumper?

Love the rear wing! Really changes the visual dynamic of the car. Nice job.
