991 Test Drive
No, you don't have to use the paddle if you don't feel like it. Just make sure to put it on Sport + or sport if you want little more gentle drive than the +.

I wonder what that guy is smoking man. He's totally incompetent to sell the car. don't buy P from him. ask for another salesman. seriously

It wasn't just this visit where I felt he isn't trying his best. The first time I met him he promised to contact me the first time a 991 came in. He didn't do it.
The second time I came in he let me sit in the car and he answered some of my questions but not all....and he didn't go find the answers. He did introduce me to a service rep but I told him I was going anyway so he followed.....since he was not helping to get the info.
He seems to be a cool guy but he isn't trying very hard to earn my business. My visits to the Benz and BMW dealers were completely different. The BMW guy knew his product inside and out and was very responsive. The Benz guy was not an expert on his product but he tried to answer my questions and was very hospitable. He follows up with me and is a warm person.
This Porsche guy left a cold feeling and I will either find another dealer or get another salesman.
I thought there was no way a Porsche salesman wouldn't be on top of his game. But during the entire test drive, I felt like he didn't do his best. I had to ask several times for info about the features and he gave me short answers with no thorough info. It seemed like I was bothring him. If you guys read the entire thread you would have seen where I wrote that he wanted me to take the car alone. But I wasn't comfortable with that. He had something else to do but got someone else to do whatever it was.

Porsche salesmen are of a different breed. They typically deal with past buyers and experience many others that will look but never buy. I agree that some seem lazy.
Some are quite knowlegabel but usually know less about the cars than I do as I do my research very thoroughly before I arrive. Some surprise me and all will most likely know something that I don't.
In all fairness they understand the 1%
and know not to try and sell the car as it sells itself to to the right buyer. Not so true of the BMW and MB dealers as they have some cheaper cars and are often selling to a lower income level. (Not trying to start a class war here, just the basics of marketing.)
You might want to mention what area you live in and someone here will most likely mention a sales person who they know will give you the kind of service you deserve and have every right to expect.

I agreed with ChuckJ on the salesman's behavior. He just doesn't want an "unsure" buyer to drive too hard on the car. Like my P Salesman, on the day I picked up my Panny, he told me never turn "Off" the PSM when driving. What an idiot !!!. Basically, he is telling me, "Never floor your gas at the traffic light so the computer won't cut your gas off".

Since the local store will be the location I use for service, I'll give them another chance...but with a different salesman. Complaining sometimes causes a business to try harder to serve you.
