I have the exact same thing on the passenger rear fender of my '12 Black 991S. It looks like a translucent circle about 6 inches or so in diameter underneath the clear coat. I too was wondering if this was a paint defect or something inherent in the design of the car. I have to have a recall done at a body shop during the next week or two and planned on asking them what it was. Mine is not very noticeable and I will probably live with instead of having a non-factory paint job.

 

Have you taken it by a pro body shop that does a lot of highline vehicles? I'd find the most experienced guy in your area (ask around) and NOT a dealer, and get an opinion on what is going on with that spot.

Then I'd get a better idea of my fix options before I'd turn a dealer loose on any paintwork.

We saw things years ago like solvent pop, a few fade spots, and even moisture that affected Porsche paint, most of which could be corrected.

 

Best advice so far....get other opinions first then discuss with the dealer.

I haven't seen it but would probably do the repaint.
