Interesting, thanks for sharing.
Impressed to see the MX-5 doing well. I have got one, Coupe, 2.0 engine with limited slip diff, on Billsteins and 17" Potenzas. Three years old now and my favourite drive by a long way (let's see if the 991 can do better when I get mine in December). Absolutely zero defects of any sorts on the MX-5 so far. I'll be keeping it, thinking that the 991 will complement it so I'll pretty much have the best of both Worlds.

Way to go Spyder!!! Thanks for the post. I'll take mine in to get it fixed. How long did you have to wait for it to get fixed (10 minute job or overnight)?

Crossing fingers it stays that way.
If I remember, galion, you got your slightly after I got mine so perhaps they fixed it before they produced yours.

I agree this 991S is awesome...i also have the MT and have taken 2-300mile trips and aside from the performance being great, what has surprised me is it is also the most comfortable car I've driven those distances. Better than my X5, 335IS, S5, and my CLK 55!

This shouldn't take long to fix if the headliner fasteners, or brace as mentioned in another thread, are the cause of the problem. OTOH, if the s/r is the cause, additional disassembly is involved, so probably they'd want you to leave the car.

In my case, Porsche requested photos to document the repair, so I picked the car up the next day. Panamera loaner was a nice touch.

Yes Chuck, mine is a June 2012 build. Dont worry they'll get rid of that rattle very easely.
I heard from my Porsche tech about the sunroof headliner fasteners bulletin in earlier builds, we were talking about how quiet and solid my sunroof was, compared to other cars I had in the past.
The guy also said that they expect a recall from Porsche for the very weak nylon fabric they used in the air deflector.

I noticed the nylon fabric hanging off... The wind was pushing down the wind deflector which was causing the hang... I have to check again on the weekends...

Issues:

Squeak on the Glass Sunroof
Multi function steering wheel no longer controls the center console

Congrats! Can you elaborate more on MF wheel issue? Is it by design that Porsche defeatured?

Since it wasn't on my invoice, I asked the service manager. He didn't know so I wonder if it's an actual campaign or just suggested solution to a common problem.

On my last car, I could control the central console (cycle through all of the functions and control them). With the new one I can only control the instrutment console which has limited functions... Unless I have not figured out how to control them both? I hope this makes sense?
