They introduced that feature with the Carrera 4 / 4S announcement.

The C4/4S will have it when they start shipping. I haven't seen anything yet about whether / when it will make its way to the RWD versions.

I chose the 7-Speed because I found the PDK to be a bit counter intuitive. I kept forgetting which paddle to use, let alone using the gear shifter to move back and forward. Too confusing.

I have noticed the dealers are not pushing the PDK as much. I have also noticed that on Ebay it was a 90% PDK for sale about 3 months ago, and now the ratios are closer to 70/30 in favor of the PDK. I have a feeling that it will stabilize at 60/40 eventually. You just can't beach a manual transmission.

Comes with Sport Chrono only.
It's activated when engaging Sport+.

I read somewhere that this feature will be part of all the 991's MT's with Sport Chrono... so since it was released as a feature on the C4/S MT it will start just after those are actually rolling out off the factory.

My best guess would be starting Jan. 2013.

Awesome. Still trying to decided on 4s or 2s. But I think that feature would be awesome to have as a option.

Another +1 on the MT Here!! No comparison for me when it comes to the overall driving experience and "FUN," even if it is fractionally slower.

The decision to go with a PDK has been, well.. nothing short of agonizing and I can officially say... you guys are NOT helping!
Of course reading through this thread made go to the dealer today... again... to test drive a MT 991... again!

I have 2013 S with Sport Chrono. I have not tried the sport+. How will I know it is enabled? thanks...

Nevermind. I see that it will be available next year....

You have lots more control of the car with manual gearbox. The PDK is fantastic but it leaves something to be desired. I had the PDK for 3 years and never got used to it. However, it was the fastest way to drive....

I know I know... but I've got to be honest it's starting to remind me of what happened with Ferrari....

When I got my first MT F360... I LOVED it!!
My 2nd was an F1 trans and I hated it, sold it and some time after I tried a F430 MT & F1... I couldn't believe I actually preferred the F1 trans.
It just felt "right" and made the car come alive in manner which was more visceral... while not giving up on the driver involvement, almost like those paddles where wired directly to the brain making the driver part of the ecu instead being part of the "mechanics through the MT...
It kinda feels like the 911 is going through that same "transition" now.

Anyway I'm still a MT guy at heart but I've gotto tell ya this new PDK is nothing like the old one...
That said... ONLY in combination with CS and PSE!! those 2 systems take the PDK to another level (the down-shift/over runs pops/crackles are like candy for the soul...) and although the MT brings it's own VERY gratifying and involving experience (and the $$ saved) I'm having a really hard time to choose between the 2.

The worst part is that the dealer told me they still don't have a confirmation on my Dec. build date (CAB C4S) so I can keep driving myself nuts for months yet!!!

Hahaha what the hell... not a bad "problem" to have!
