Thanks for all the great feedback. I wish I could figure out how to quote message in reply so I could address you individually. I always use my iPad for the forum and can't seem to get it to work. Heading to the dealer now. Of course the weather sucks, lots of rain. Was hoping for one last top down ride to compare the stereos at speed with wind noise but it seems that is not gonna happen today. Barring and nonsense from the dealer I should have my order put in by the end of the day. It almost feels like I should be going ther to get the car today. It will feel strange driving home in the family SUV after all this internal buildup. Oh well I guess that's all part of the Porsche experience

 

Hey 6speed- I also thought long about the side mirrors in white but actually like the contrast. It matches the rest of the black on the outside of the car.
Galion - thanks for the great link. That car looks amazing. Really helps make the decision about the red top. One odf the things I like most about the red top is the view from behind. I love how it looks with the rear lights. It would look amazing on the 4s with the new red light strip!!
Pyramid - silver belts are interesting. Not only would they match the dash dits but maybe even the seatbacks. Have to look at that today as well.

Forgt to add that I'm doing carpets in deviating color. So all carpet will be black.

 

So you are actually changing the carpet color or floor mats? Its quite a charge for changing the carpet color and I was thinking simply replacing the floor mats with black ones...

 

Carpet color. It's around $700. I thought about just mats but there is a lot of carpet. Makes a great contrast. Especially in the back since it replaces all carpet in the entire car with the black.

 

When are you planning to get the car? Would love to see some pictures of this configuration.. I'm planning to order next month or so (for European Delivery in April)

 

Looking at a January build so should have it by end of February they said.

 

Going to be a BEAUTIFUL build!! Just an idea, but Black Carpet looks really nice with the Red Interior. It offers nice contrast.

I also looked at a black dash but it was too much black. It didn't look right to me. Also I'm paying for full red leather. If I did a black dash I'd be paying for the red leather AND paying for the black dash, just didn't make sense.

 

Order is in!! Delivery estimate now at the end of Jan! The wait begins!

Red roof is great when they are open, it gives a very nice flow to the red interior (the roof folded with red surface).
When the red roof is up, to me, it takes more attention/focus than the car itself, especially in lighter exterior color. That's why I'm not sure.
Maybe because I'm more on the conservative side, I ordered my 991C2 with black/platinum interior, white exterior

 

Pyramid - I agree that the red roof is a bit different. My concern with the roof being red is that it might draw too much attention, from both the crazies and our friends in blue. However Porsches always draw attention..... I had a black roof on it for a while in my build and what confirmed red for me was the red roof and the tail lights together when you look at the rear of the car.
My 997 was Grey exterior with Black interior and I wanted a bit of a change from that with this car so RED IT IS!
