They produced both the 997 and the 991 for model year 2012. The 991's are sometimes referred to as 2012.5's. When I was shopping for my 2012 991, the dealer websites were wrong half the time on the model designation and/or year. Porsche confused everyone, hehe.

How come you can't order a 2012 997 on Porsche's web site then? They are all 991s

They still show 997 GTS 4 and Turbos on the configurator.

Ya. That was my main question. That listing above shows a 2012 997 "S". I just thought there were only 2012 991 "S" and they didn't make the 997 for the "S" anymore because it won't show in the Porsche configuration.

I bought a 2012 997 S Cap in Nov 2011. It has to do with how Porsche does there model years compliying with US law. So there are 2012 991's and 997's. my title says model year 2012.
