I'm looking for fun to drive, I won't likely track it, just enjoy it on the roads, I'll drive it in the snow for fun occasionally but have a Cayenne for a winter daily driver.

What would you buy in a new model and for what reasons?

Thanks,
Steve
My suggestion is get the C4S. I believe that the C2S will offer a more purist track experience with the traditional RWD dynamics but you don't plan to track the car regularly. The AWD C4S will be a better all-rounder and a more practical road car particularly where you live and with the snow you get. And it can be tracked without any issues if you decide to do it.

It is my prediction that there will come a time when you would avoid driving the Cayenne, except in extreme conditions, and will want to drive your 991 more and more. Then you will want the AWD capability of the C4S. I think it offers more flexibility for those living in the north!

If you are planning on driving the car in the winter get the 4s. If not then go test drive them back to back and see which one you like. I have always driven a 2S as my daily driver. When I drove the older 4S models I did not like the feel of the car. I could feel the weight in the front, it impacted steering feel in a negative way for me. I also lived in Atlanta and did not care about the four wheel drive.

I now have a 991 C2S and don't care for it much. The most current EVO review of the 4S suggests that the dead steering feel in the C2 is much improved in the C4S they tested. I'm going to drive one and may switch because I really, really, don't like the feel of the C2S. If I don't switch cars then I'm going to work on suspension options (sport PASM or aftermarket options) to get more feedback from the front.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy whichever car you end up with!

I've had a 2009 C2S and now a C4S. The I prefer the C4S for my DD. Stability and grip as expected are remarkable. Planted and confident.
With you in Ontario, seems like an even more desirable choice.
