Track wheels & tires

Well, as I`m waiting for my 991S to arrive in April, i`m killing time searching for some wheels and tires for track use.
What do you think about the OZ Ultraleggera HLT?
Regarding the tires, i have no ideas? Can you help me please. I did a search on Tirerack, but there are not so many choices.
Also, what is better for track use and cost, 19" or 20"?
Thanks!!

In my manual for the 991 it indicates that use of real race tires can void the warranty! Concern is oil lubrication. Go figure.

I bought 19" OZ Superforgiata as my track wheels. 16lbs front, 19lbs rear, plus lighter tires and they are smaller than the 20" OEM tires. I saved 7lbs on each front, and 12 lbs on each rear.

Cool. Did you use tire size to keep the same rolling radius? How did they work? Was the change in unsprung weight as good as its supposed to be? Any obvious handling differences?

For track use, go 19s. I wish we could use 18s for the 991.

You will have more tire and wheel choice with 19s. Plus cheaper then 20s.

Personally I think Im going to wait to see what Volk will offer and pick up a set of TE37 or G2s for track use. Volks are always a quality product, light and strong.

Yes, 245/40/19 front, 295/35/19 rear for the same diameter. After the new tire and wheels mounted, I could feel change of direction is quicker and handling is more nimble.

Anyone tried just throwing Corsas on their 20s? I'm considering that option for this upcoming track season till more wheels are available for the 991.
