In Europe they have many of these unmarked cars (VW, Volvo, Renault etc.) and too many times they'll drive up behind you so close that anyone else but them would call this tailgating...
After they've had a bit of fun, they put on their light and nail ya!

Lots of video's of it on you tube where you can actually hear what the cops are saying, quiet entertaining... as long as it's not you!

I don't agree with unmarked police cars. I think it's just another opportunity for the mentally ill to commit horrible crimes. I tell my wife, don't ever pull over for an unmarked car. Call 911, let them know you are being pulled over by an unmarked car, are scared it might not be legit, and to please send a marked car/officer while you stay on the phone with them.

In this day and age that is very sound advise!

Agreed. And given the claim is always 'we ticket for safety' (uh, you know, vs. setting up speed traps and using it as a revenue stream like seems to be the case everywhere I look in my area - particularly on downhill 30mph split 4 lane roads where you roll over the speed limit...), you'd think that marked vehicles would do more to encourage people to slow down, too.

But certainly enough stories of 'unmarked' phonies pulling people over and doing much worse things than ticketing that you'd think unmarked cars would be a bit more limited - maybe to stakeouts?
