I've heard that too, but never had a problem, and the car has been admired by more than one enforcement official

For those that don't like the egg yolk look, you can also buy silver bulbs that are orange when lit.

HA HA HA. If 991 start loosing their orange marker, they will come here and start a 'lost and found' post. So what do we do with these orange markers? Throw in in the trunk when we sell the car incase the next buyer don't like the clear?

I found out the hard way that the Side Markers require canbus LED's.

I could not handle the ugly Orange Bulb and found these Orange LED's look better and work great.

****** DONT USE THESE - SEE UPDATE IN POST #24 (BELOW) **********************

http://autolumination.com/py24w.htm

High Powered 5630 4 Chip SMT Leds - Outfitted with Canbus Bulb-Out Warning Cancellation Chip

Outfitted with the new Osram 3watt led + 4x 5630 SMT Leds with Osran chipset.
Aluminum heat sink keeps them cool in hot & smaller housings to avoid heat related failure.

7 Watt
12mm dia. x 30mm overall

Voltage: 10-14v

BeamAngle: 270o
Polarity Bias: Yes

$10.99 ea.

^^^^^^^^^ DONT USE THESE - SEE UPDATE IN POST #24 (BELOW) ^^^^^^^^^^^

Hopefully it helps you not buy a bunch of wrong LED's (like I did).

Add another wrong LED to the list
Don't buy the LED I posted above (in Post #22).
They don't set errors initially, but set errors after driving and using turn signals.

The one Nicoli mentioned is available in amber.

http://www.autolumination.com/py24w.htm

8 Led Canbus
9 mm x 29mm overall length
$6.99 ea.

So far, it works well with no errors.

FYI - When inserting it into the socket you can't push it all the way down, so just back it out a bit and then it lights up.
