May Day (i hate this title because may 1 is my birthday)
Day 17 with my 991
Driving South on the 57 freeway in some rather perfect weather enjoying the purr of the exhaust while on Sport mode and begin to see in front of me some cars coming closer together so naturally I push the clutch down release 7th gear and shift into sixth but then somethings off
the rapid, almost instant, familiar, feeling of the pedal meeting my relocated left shoe has not occured yet!
Frantically I begin making sure I wasn't going crazy by looking down at my feet during my drive on the freeway and notice only two pedals!!!!!!!!!!
Scrambled thoughts come into my mind, should I hit throttle? wait no don't be stupid shaun what if that pedal gets stuck just like the clutch????? Should I hit the brakes, of course not! theres no point there no shoulder! Neutral it is....
Now my hearts really pounding and all I can think is that damn 911 call the poor family made because their accelerator was stuck, but then I think wait this is different I'm going to get hit from behind and if I get hit hard enough will the warm engine cause my herniated disc to never be a problem again? Or no wait, do I actually have to hope these drivers of southern california (good God has the state of driving ability in LA declined drastically) dn't ream me? So while in gear I think whats the worst that can happen and how can I prevent it, well worse that can happen is the car remains in 6th gear until the car slows to a speak in which the rpms become to low and the car just shuts off abruptly so not a good idea i decide to shift out of sixth and remain in neutral and was fortunate enough to find a section rigth between the 91 and 57 and saw several highway patrols fly right by me not asking to help or anything.
Completely astonished at the occurrence I quickly check the obvious floor mat and its still well connected to the chassis unsure what to do i try yanking back out on the clutch and on the 3rd tug it releases.
Sent car back to Circle Porsche and they said everything looks fine with it, who's the bigger idiot me or Circle Porsche? Not only has the clutch given out on me once, my PCM doesn't turn on anymore! Everytime I start the car it try to turn on and then fails and the worst issue im having now is at the redlight the autostop kicks in and then when its green i'll hit the clutch and the car does not even turn on!!!!!!!!!!!! (this has happened 3/30 times I've driven the car). From never having one issue with my 997.2 to having four with a very DOA feel, im getting a strange taste in my mouth about build quality. I report all these issues to my dealer and he says it sounds like the pre-delivery inspection didn't take place???????? major fail and feeling pretty crappy right about now.

Jeezzzz sorry to hear about your trouble!
Sounds like the auto stop switch attached to the clutch pedal travel may have become lose and is jammed in there... just a hypnosis though since I don't even know where this switch/sensor is located.

Regardless I'd have the dealer take whole damn thing apart... their has to be some form of residual (forensic of nothing else) evidence left from this type of jamming action.
Don't take no for an answer!
Good luck!

Good thought Sid! I'm having my service manager sign a letter stating this issue as well, is your ordered 4s MT or PDK? Hope you got the PDK this is the last time I buy another MT P-Car

If you're interested in a more complete version on the why check out post 1113 here https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...91-c4s-75.html
Let us know how it works out for ya.
just for whatever its worth Sid, do not go with the servotronic steering option, omg is this such a dumb option, i don't feel confident blowing by people through traffic now, the electronic brain is dumber than **** when carving in and out of traffic and variable speeds, not sure how the race car drivers got used to this, im almost certain they've disabled this feature only wished i knew how.
