I believe cars that come off the assembly line get randomly picked quality assurance test drives. Bet yours was selected for this.

I think they ALL get quality assurance brief drives. Some, longer than others. Hmmm, maybe ones with a bit more miles had a small blip and needed to get checked out.

Curious (and hope to find out soon!) how many miles a Euro delivery car has when picked up at the factory. I'm assuming around 5 or so, like some of the numbers we're seeing here.

8 miles, total. Semi custom order, in that I bought it while it was in transit.

I'm quite **** about a new car having 10 or less miles on it when I buy it. I always want to be the first person to put the miles on the car and, more importantly, know how those miles were driven and at what RPM's. My dealer had to "dealer trade" for mine and after I established how many miles were already on the car (13 miles) I told them no more miles were to be put on the car, other than PDI and fueling. My dealer thought I was nuts. They looked at me as if I was from another planet.

I'm with you on this one. If I custom order a car I want as few miles on it as possible. I don't want a bunch of others driving it. I'm especially not crazy about the guys at the port driving the cars on and off the ship. I've seen a few videos where they are not so careful with them, to say the least.

To your point about the dealer looking at you as if you were from another planet, I honestly think the dealers forget that these cars are special to us. It's frustrating, to say the least.

Ours was the only manual in the local dealer inventory of new 991s, had been around the lot maybe a month back in September with no takers. She had maybe 85 miles when we wrote the check after two test drives. I let her know every day that I think she is just as pretty as those quick-shifting PDKs :-) She likes that.

mine was 35 miles at delivery. It was lot car shipped from another state. I'd say by the paper work, it was sitting on the lot for just under 2 months. so i guess it had about 1-2 test drives before it reached me.
