Car Cover

First, if you use a car cover, interior/exterior. Great! here are some links you may want to explore. If you don't use a car cover, have a garage to park in daily, or are able to wash your baby every day after use, then I am extremely jealous.

From another thread that is still open, we got to talking about car covers and how little I know. I've done some research and thought others may learn from what I found. I have no affiliation to any of the links listed. I just did a few quick searches and found the ones that seemed to have the most/best info

Based on your research would you recommend a good quality cover for using inside the gargage to provide extra protection from dust and dirt as well as wife and kids maybe brushing up against the car?

Thanks in advance

Be careful with the laws in your state. If you put on a car cover on and it covers your license plate and/or registration stickers, you can get a ticket if you are parked on the street.

The Porsche cover has a space for the license. You do have to maneuver it down if you have any sort of tail or the spoiler in the up position.

There is not much price difference from interior cover to all weather cover from Porsche. Since mine sits outside, all weather for me. Rubbing against the cover isn't much to fear. It will not prevent damage from tools falling onto it or such. We can't buy Force fields yet, but I'm sure Porsche and other exotics are looking into it.

The blankets are not a complete preventative. They are there to block bird crap, dust, leaves, water, and other debris. They are not infallible, but they do whet they were intended for.

Thanks for posting those links Chup, very informative. Are you planning on altering your routine due to the cleanliness recommendation? From the other thread, sounds like you're good so far, just curious how far you'd be willing to take it.

That's hard to do, changing the routine. You can't really just wipe it down and cover it. It has to go on a dry car no matter what.

When the Detailers come by, I cover it up when they leave. That's the best example of it's use. But if, for what ever reason, I can't put her under the awning, I will cover her up to avoid the bird crap and leaves.

One thing I do like about it is the mornings. Removing the cover and driving off, there is zero dew on the windows or mirrors.

I don't think I will change much if at all. I will be cleaning the cover soon. That's for sure!
