How fast 991 PDK shifts??
I guess I am in the minority here. It has always been her who pushed me to spend more on my cars. Although I always had suspicion why, often times I am stuck with her SUVs and she goes places in mine any chance she gets.

HotHonda: wow...bimmer was nice! I can imagine how it could be racey
You guys are too good! Not sure how your better halves get convinced...I know for mine I had to get approval and will not be looking at anything for a very long time!
Ok..back to topic in question.
Great logic and discussion...
Clearly oldman40 hit the nail in the head with millisecond logic. It's clear that this new Gen pdk is much more superior and with the smoothness of shifts, it's next to none!
Here's some data that my friend is able to find...we are talking veyron shifting efficiency here...WOW!! (Golf DCT is also amazing BTW!)...
Shift times
A long shift time (for a VW automatic transmission to trigger an error code) is considered anything over 625 ms[1]
The average manual car driver: 500 ms - 1 s[citation needed]
The fastest (Race gearbox) manual: 250 ms[citation needed]
Golf GTI Mk.V (DSG) : 8 ms[2]
Aston Martin Vanquish: 250 ms[2]
BMW M3 E36 with SMG I: 250 ms[2]
BMW M3 E46 with SMG II: 80 ms[2]
BMW M5 E60 with SMG III: 250 ms[2]
Ferrari 575M: 220 ms
Audi TT Quattro 3.2 (Direct Shift): 200 ms[3]
Lexus LFA: 200 ms
Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale & Ferrari F430: 150 ms[2]
Enzo Ferrari: 150 ms[2]
Ferrari FXX: Under 100 ms[4]
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG: 100 ms[2]
Nissan GT-R R35: 100 ms
BMW M3 E92 with M-DCT: 80 ms[2]
Ferrari 430 Scuderia & FXX Evoluzione: 60 ms[2]
Bugatti Veyron (Direct Shift): 8 ms[2]
Alfa Romeo Mito & Alfa Romeo Giulietta (2010) Dual Dry Clutch Transmission TCT: 8 ms[5]

Is that car at Barrier Porsche right now?
GTI Shift Times
Fester, very interesting data with regards to the GTI shift time. I absolutely love mine! Though there than can be a delay from when the paddle is flicked and the actual gear change takes place. For a $25k car with a DSG tranny like the big boys, I'm not complaining

i believe the Golf R is manual only.
Have a GTI also...6 speed...tuned engine. Its pocket rocket and a great DD.
But i cant shift as well as a PDK.

That's right, I test drove a GTI not too long ago, but got them mixed up already. I don't recall the GTI was that fast, but it was still a fun car. I did not even realize it had a DCT until after the drive.
It's deceptively quick stock....do the APR tune stage 1 and it's a pocket rocket. Great car to toss around too.
