2 Months, 2000 miles... and loving it!

What can I say that hasn't already been said. Absolutely love this car.

Break in complete. Didn't follow it exactly but I was good for the first 1000 miles. Last 1000 miles I took RPM's to about 6000 or so. No sport plus.... that is until later today.

And the wifes new car...... CTT.

Well done, sir!!! I am coming up to the 1k mark - I have taken it to 5k revs on occasion in sport plus because I love the rev matching in the manual.

I really can't think of any complaints or anything I would change. I did not order this car, it was sitting in the showroom waiting for me so if I ordered a car I would do things a bit different, but overall it would be a very similar car. It has all the "must haves".

With the C4S' and the gas level issue I do tend to fill up earlier than I would normally as I don't want to run out of gas. Another guy from the same dealer has run out of gas 3 times..... other than that I look forward to driving this car every day and it's been a long time since I have said that.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the car. I still have 500 miles to go until 2K and haven't really been pushing my car, but I've still been quite impressed with its overall linear performance in Sport-plus mode. The 991S is definitely one well-crafted machine.

Mike! That's great to hear. Your car was awesome looking that day at the meet. I think I like your wife's car even more though. Wow. Nicely done. Great combo.

Thank you. Yeah, she certainly caught me in a good mood and scored big with the Cayenne. It's a sharp car. Drives great.

The camera is OK. There is a short lag when you put it in reverse and, because it is mounted so low, it only looks back about 4 feet. It is not as good as the Audi and Porsche standard equipment.

But the install was perfect and Miguel and the people at Town could not have been nicer. I am flirting with the idea of a turbo next year (I am flirting with the idea of winning lottery tickets as well). I hope I am more successful with the tt. I will definitely give them a look when/if that happens.

It is great to hear your honeymoon is still going! I love mine as well -7,500 miles and growing.

I did have one "shock" today cruising the dealer websites for a friend that is looking into a Boxter. I saw at Jack Daniels a "new" leftover '12 991S equipped about the same SAS mine, maybe better, for $106K! WTF - has my car lost that much value in a year? Wow!

Did you ever resolve your problem with that cop? I got a pm from someone about a Bergen county cars n coffee type meeting. Do you know anything about it?

Anyway. Be well, and drive in good health!

Michael

I agree with you on the camera, but for me its a really good solution. Although I leased the car and will certainly give it back in 2 years, the camera, albeit with limitations, will help my garage in city parking the car. Certainly better than no camera.

I followed your thread on the turbo and was remembering my time with my 997 TT. The TT's are so fast, so much torque, but I also think that living where we do, the 991S for me, is more than enough power/speed at a cost (monthly rent for me) that I can digest and also stay out of jail. I think I would be timid with a 991 TT and not drive it as much as I do my 991. I am much more comfortable driving my 991S v. my 997 TT. Don't know why. Certainly neither car is "understated". But, I support you buying a Turbo and reserve my place for a test drive!! I'm sure it will be an amazing car.

Don't you know NEVER look at used prices so soon after purchasing a new car. You need to wait at least 2 years for the curve to flatten a bit.

Court date June 5th. I will be there with lawyer in tow..... Although I don't want to, I will probably take a deal, if offered. Hard to digest when I was just driving.

Didn't hear anything about a C&C in Bergen. I would certainly be interested...... LMK.

Talk soon.

Camera is certainly better than none...much better. I will drive the tt and if I love it (it is hard not to like how it looks) I will consider it. The chance to own a true super car once in my life is very seductive. But it is a big investment and your points about where we live are excellent. I am not a fast driver anyway - I just want to beat everyone to 35mph - i.e. to the next light or toll!

Glad to hear cooler heads will prevail on the 5th. Take the deal - it will be offered, and do a burnout out of the parking lot!

Cheers!
Michael
