Clear Bra
Clear Bra
I am thinking about having a clear bra installed over the full hood and front fenders. Before I do this I wanted to get opinions either for or against. Also does anyone know a good installer in the Washington DC metro area in case I decide to do it?
I have full hood done, wheel arches, and bumper. Did not do fenders or mirrors. First car I ever done clear bra - and I am glad I did. Car is so low, everything hits it. Have seen small indentations in the front bumper from road debris, which I have no doubt would have resulted in paint chips were it not for bra. Do it, you will be glad you did. Live in NY, so cannot help you out with an installer in DC.
I did it to mine, full front, rear bumper, A pillars, rocker panels and behind the door handles. I did XPel Ultimate and it does have some self healing properties. I do it to every vehicle I purchase, prevents chips and scratches to the paint. Worth every penny!
Mine was done by my dealer so I don't have direct experience with an installer. But judging from the flawless full bras on many of the cars that I see weekly at cars n coffee at Katy's in Great Falls Va each Saturday morning and at Fair Lakes Va each Sunday morning, I would bet you can look yourself and get recommendations from satisfied owners at either.

Clear bra can be a very beneficial addition to any vehicle. It can help prevent paint damage while preserving the cars factory finish. Here is an installation thread with a video and HD photos to help demonstrate the process. http://blog.xpel.com/2013-drop-top-p...antonio-texas/ There are many coverage options available. The most recommended areas to protect are the high impact areas of the car, including the full hood, front fenders, front bumper, mirrors, and headlights. Our ULTIMATE film comes with a 10 year warranty and has an automotive clear coat. What this means is, the film is capable of self-healing when it gets a light paint scratch, rock chip, or swirl mark.
If you have any other questions feel free to PM us or reply to this thread.
For an installer in your area, I recommend going to
