Issues with my easy entry and drive

Hey guys,

Here is my problem. I have had a ton of issues with my car (over 12 visits within the first 12 months of ownership). I got an attorney involved to discuss lemon law and over the last few weeks my alarm will sound when I go to open the door (using easy entry and drive). Problem is it has only happened twice out of hundreds of times and I can't recreate it. Not sure it's worth bringing it in because the dealership will think i'm just tacking this issue on and if they can't recreate it than I am not sure I can even prove it! Filming myself open the door each time seems unreasonable but is that what I have to do?

I have had this issue happen twice as well. It may have been a timing issue with the delay in the s/w between door unlock and turning the alarm and alarm sensors off. What I mean is that I believe you are supposed to walk up to the car, hold the handle for a second and listen to the doors unlock, then pull the handle, open the door and get in. If you pull the handle the moment you walk up to the car the door will open but perhaps the alarm hasn't yet been turned off. In each case I had to pull the fob out of my pocket and hit the button to silence the alarm.

I have found that with both BMW and Porsche complaining about something which is unreproducible on demand (with no fault code thrown) isn't worthwhile unless there is already a campaign outstanding. The dealership doesn't have the tools to diagnose this type of stuff and there is no way to complain directly to Porsche when you get the survey that asks if the dealer fixed the problem without unfairly knocking the dealer.

I agree..I will try waiting a few seconds before opening the door. Thanks for the suggestion.
