Excessive options on this $166K 991 C2S?- me thinks so!
Wow - I've never seen one ordered with so much stuff. $67,000 in options!!!! Am I reading this correctly? Was _anything_ left off?
Did the salesperson have too much to drink on a friday afternoon when they ordered this car??? http://sonnen.porschedealer.com/Cadi...47415/info.php 031 - Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) with PASM sport suspension 176 - Sport Exhaust System 250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) 427 - 20-inch Carrera Classic wheel 450 - Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) 509 - Fire Extinguisher 636 - ParkAssist (front and rear) 640 - Sport Chrono Package 653 - Sunroof in glass 658 - Power Steering Plus 748 - Electric folding exterior mirrors 840 - SportDesign steering wheel 911 - Model Designation "911" AZ - Black leather interior CAS - Model designation on doors in Black CGE - Sport Chrono clock dial in Racing Yellow CLU - Decorative stitching on steering wheel rim in contrasting color CNL - Wing mirror (lower part) painted CUR - PCM package in leather CZW - Additional Interior Package, dashboard in leather EEJ - Carbon interior package (for leather interior and PDK) EFA - Pedals and footrest in Aluminum G0 - Anthracite Brown Metallic P07 - Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way) P3A - Burmester® Audio Package P3G - Premium Package Plus with Adaptive Sport Seats Plus XAA - Aerokit Cup XEX - Bi-Xenon headlights in Black with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) XFR - Instrument dials in Racing Yellow XHM - Center console trim in Carbon XHN - Seat belts in Racing Yellow XHS - Rear center tunnel in leather with decorative stitching XNG - Instrument surround leather XNS - Steering column casing in leather XRP - Wheel spacers, 5 mm XUB - Headlight cleaning system cover painted exterior color XWK - Sport Seats Plus backrests shell in leather XXD - Door sill guards in carbon, illuminated XYB - Fuel filler cap with Aluminium Look finish ZAB - Ornamental Porsche Crest |
Power kit?...Ceramic brakes?...Aluminum trim console and door, aluminum window trim-That can add another $22-23K
|
It has PPCB's but I guess a powerkit is missing. What were they thinking, leaving that off?!
|
How could they leave off power kit on a 166K C2S build? Wonder who would buy that..
|
I'm pretty sure my optionlist is longer.... Is that why they always are that friendly when I step into my dealership??
BTW... I didn't take the powerkit too. Useless option IMO, just like PCCB. (For me personally that is of course... I rather spend that extra money on the interior, because that's the place I spend most of my time ;) ) Regarding the price... This car is cheaper than the baseprice for my C4S over here, so that's the reason I didn't fell off my chair when I saw it I guess :) Suzy991 |
The build as I intend to order is 166,795. But I have chosen significantly different options. Powerkit being my most expensive option. My order will be for the 4S though, not the 2S.
Personally, I think there mistake was in ordering options that might detract from the purchase. I personally would not purchase it because of some of the options on it. Not because of the price. |
Leather on the hard shell seat back is interesting. Never seen that.
|
For that kind of money, I'd get a GT3.
|
For what its worth, that's not the most I have seen... Its missing the X51 power upgrade and the full exterior paint.

That about what I paid for a 2012 TTS

When I ordered my 991S Cab the dealer advised me that I had to give notice, well prior to the "lock" date if there was any chance whatsoever I wouldn't take the car. If there was that chance they were going to "dumb" down the car as I was specifying far too many $ in options and they would have trouble selling it off the floor. It is an X51 Cab with many options and would list in the US at around $163k and almost $190k in Canada.

Saw a C2S optioned up to $180K - Yikes!
When I was shopping for my C2S 4 months ago, there were only 2 in SoCal that had all the options I wanted. One was bright red, with every conceivable option except a sunroof, for $180K at the dealership in Newport Beach. I have to think that was a custom order that was cancelled by the buyer. I'm sure the dealer would have been very flexible on the price, but still.
I didn't like my Racing Yellow paint (still don't) but it had what I wanted (and nothing that I didn't want) and the price couldn't be beat. I could have ordered a car, but I would have lost out on the combination of three different incentive programs that made the price irresistable. DMoore '13 C2S '13 Panamera GTS |

oh US pricing... every time i see people complaining about the price of a US car, i'm like @^#@$@#$@#$ ... we pay 40% more in Europe for the same car. On top of that, we pay more than double for fuel...
