The buffeting is insanely annoying, I wish I had stopped to ask whether I could pop the sunroof last weekend at RA.
My friend's race mechanic had set the pressure to 32 and 36 cold. They got up to 38 and 45 after a session. I noticed on the drive home that the road noise from the tyres was significantly higher than normal. Have you encountered that? Dealer is going to look at it tomorrow. Plus looks like my real seals might be leaking a little.

I thought about it but did not do so given the circumstances of the day. I was running in a very small group with only 3 cars including the pace car and I did not think I was going to be pushing it so hard that something might have happened. If I was running in the blue or red group with a larger number of cars, it would have been a different matter.

38/45 is pretty high, that would explain the loss of traction. Make sure you check and adjust your pressures after each session. Not sure about the road noise, did you drive home w/ the tires still hot?

Tyres were still hot when I drove home. Road noise was terrible.

That's likely the reason, has it persisted now that you're back to usual pressures (I like 32/36 cold)?

You tires are probably to low now for normal driving if you haven't changed them since your last session. I would make sure and check them before taking it out.

Sometimes if you go off-line on the track, you pick up chunks of rubber on your tires (marbles) which make the tires noisy. They will usually "wear down" and then the noise should get better.

Seems to have returned to normal. Am at 30/36 cold. Will have front inflated by 2bars.

Thanks for the heads up. Am topping up the air tomorrow.

The car seems to be still shedding bits and pieces of debris from the under carriage today as I drive along.

Thanks Ale. This DE was totally unexpected and completely last minute. I was going down to watch my friend iron out some bugs in his Cayman track beast and got a call from him the day before asking if I wanted to track my car. I forgot to take more pics of his Cayman as I was too busy getting ready for the track. This is no ordinary Cayman. The only original Cayman part is the roof and the trunk lid. The whole thing is kitted out like a Cup car. Total track beast that destroys GT3 and GT2s on the track. Partial pic below.

Track safety issue. I think the rationale is that if any accident happens, its easier to get to you if the window is down.

I see. that make sense. So is the helmet requirement, right?
