First 24 Hours Observations
The cons:
The seat is rock-hard and I found myself squirming for almost 3 hours today as I drove from Sanibel Island to Miami.
A few spirited accelerations from a standing start and I experienced the dreaded and much-maligned hesitation. You have to experience it to know what it's like but I'll try to describe it from my limited experience with it happening: It's like the car is saying, "Huh? You wanna go fast?" It takes a good second or so and then lunges forward with a roar. I hope I can figure out how to work around it because it is definitely WRONG. If this is endemic to the PDK, maybe I should've gotten the manual.
The base sound system is probably fine if you're not under way. The P Zeroes are noisy and the ambient noise makes it hard to hear music and talk on the radio. Won't matter most of the time but when I make the 2:45 trip across Alligator Alley to and from Sanibel/Miami, I'll rely on the sound system since the RPMs will be steady at around 2K and I'll want a little entertainment.
The pros:
The PSE is awesome, especially the downshifts and rev matching and burbles and pops. I have yet to let her rip because I'm trying to be good and not rev up where the engine really comes to life, but what I've heard so far has made a believer out of me! Downshifting is where it's at! At least, so far.
The car is drop dead gorgeous! No arguing that. Fact, not opinion.
I was able to fit two carry-ons in the boot. Surprised me and my salesman. See pic.

Does it hesitate in sports+ mode? I know I have felt this a couple times in normal mode when the PDK is trying to figure out what I'm doing. The PDK normally shifts up in that range if you are doing normal driving. If you suddenly floor it, it will hesitate as the shift mapping changes. This should not happen in sports+, since it runs to redline before it shifts.

Sanibel to Miami is a great first drive !! Car looks great !!
What mode were you driving in to feel the hesitation ? Generally these cars are mapped to be more sluggish in normal mode compared to sport and sport plus.

Nice to get your feedback...but I've gotta say...It's no Bentley and you've got 14 ways...18 ways fit (at least me) like a glove -- it does take some time to get just right adjustment. Porsche has mellowed this car too much in normal driving...it must be driven in at least sport to get the right mapping going.

You are going to need to experiment on the seating. I have 14 way, and found that I constantly needed to adjust the seats in the beginning until I found a comfortable setting. I found that setting lumbar support low was better that setting it high.

I'm too big for the adaptive seats as they are more bolstered and therefore narrower where I'm wider. I find the seats very supportive but quite firm and not soft enough for long trips to suit my comfort needs. You'd think that with all my extra padding, that I wouldn't notice the firmness of the seat but I guess my fat is sensitive.

Congrats on the gorgeous car! +1 on the throttle maps, normal is VERY sedate, I usually leave it on just until the oil temps are up, then it's sport the rest of the way, w/ sport+ mainly on track but occasionally on the street if I'm feeling feisty lol.

My around town driving setting is Sport and Manual mode. So far, so good. One sprightly start from a red light had a very slight hesitation so the experience I had yesterday where the car felt like it was stumbling over its own feet must've meant I was in Normal and Automatic mode. I'll reserve those modes for highway speeds with cruise control on.

My wife usually drives the 2012 Audi Q5 and occasionally the '06 Jag XKR vert. She hasn't even seen the new car yet as she is still in Vermont. I'll be going back up there in a couple of days and not be back to FL until beginning of Oct. when she'll see it for the first time. I hope she'll want to drive the car. We're keeping the Jag as our beater car.
