Yet another CS2 to critique..

Ok, After a million questions and fidgeting I think I'm there with my build options. Going to place the order later this week.. Thanks for all that have provided input to me so far and helping my learning curve..

Feel free to critique away...based on my usage givens...
Usage Givens:
1) Like a spirited car and may find some mountain and open roads to enjoy occasionally but not going to track (ever). SC was a debate for me, but in the end I added mainly to get for Port+ in PDK manual
2) Will Be DD that I most likely will keep for 5+ years..
3) Like some luxury, so leather is important.. although not going nuts with the additional leather options, stitching etc..
4) Struggled with 4 way vs 14 way seats.. Was going to go with 4way, but liked the automatic exit etc.. (otherwise memory oriented functions aren't of much value)
5) Sport Exhaust was a given for me..
6) Struggled with Base audio vs Bose vs Burmeiser.. In the end I went middle of the road.. Not excited about Bose but since I was getting XM and HD Radio didn't make sense to add that to Base Audio..
7) Originally set on MT, but gradually have come to appreciate the PDK and what it can offer..

911 Carrera S
BOSEŽ Audio Package P3H
Premium Package i.c.w. Power Sport Seats (14-way) P3D

Sport Chrono Package 640

20-inch Carrera Classic wheel 427
Instrument dials in Black 022
Power Sport Seats (14-way) with Memory Package P06
Luggage net in passenger footwell 581

Will the telephone module work in the US? Was under the impression that it wouldn't.

I think so, as you have a GSM service provider (i.e. ATT) you can use the sim card.. as it's a quadband phone.. I've been through a few threads of folks in the US, and no one mentioned compatibility problems..

That said, I'm not really sure if I'm going to use it.. but it was pretty cheap and seemed like an option at time and if it works with the SIM profile on my phone it is a lot nicer. I'm even willing to get a new phone if mine doesn't support SIM profile..

I've just had lousy experience with the standard blutooth integration between cars and phones.. It is always just kinda flaky.. The SIM profile works over blutooth as well, but at least it doesn't rely on blutooth for most of the other functions other than sharing your mobile phones sim card with the car's phone.. It's worth $250 or so to find out I guess..

nice build. i stuck with MT even in SC. i've had paddle shifting before and i never used it. i always thought of getting MT in a sports car. i dont mind the traffic or constant shifting. to me i want to feel "one" with the car. also being fractions of a second faster doesnt matter to me.

Yeah, that was a huge struggle for me to decide. I've always had MT's in sports cars and planned to for my first 911 as well.. Eventually I sort of got won over by the PDK.. , but I could have just as easily gone MT....

Did you consider the "smoking package" option 583 ? No charge option which gives you an extra outlet and covers that opening in the centre console for a nice, clean look.

Yeah, I'm still not sure on that one... Need to think about it some more.

I think I kinda like the little open area without out it.. Seems like a decent place for change or to lay my phone if I don't want to put it in the glove box.. Normally I just lay it on the passenger seat otherwise..

I think there are already three power ports from the standard features (passenger side footwell, glove compartment, enclosed center console storage compartment)...

I'm new to this forum, but seems like a lot of 911's being ordered lately. I suppose this is the place to get some opinions on builds, and generally share the anticipation after having an order placed.

I align with glusc2002 on being "one with the car", and also went MT. PDK is cool tech, but I'll be driving this one for pure enjoyment (not a DD).

Besides, we know Porsche invented PDK so the gals would start buying the cars...

Very nice build. Black is gorgeous, but a lot of effort (or detailer $$) to keep looking that way. Just fyi my phone does not fit into the smoke package delete hole, so it is sort of useless for me. But the Kenu phone mount works nicely with it on the dash vent when I need a little Waze heads up.

Well I sort of want the DD to be pure enjoyment... otherwise I'll drive the Toyota PU to work..

And ouch on the Gal's and PDK.. Don't they just drive Boxsters?

I don't have smokers package and I like the little cubby but I don't think your phone will sit in there very well. It does fit in perfectly under the arm rest.

I think you made the correct choice on the sports chrono and also think you will like it more in sports plus mode with out using the paddle shifters. For me the paddle shifters are like launch control something I did a few times at first and not anymore. The PDK is just so much better at figuring out shifts then you are.

I also think you made the correct choice on the stereo. The Bose is not half as bad as I feared. It does get a bit harsh in the mid range at volume but at most listening levels it is OK and I am mostly listening to remastered HD downloads.

While you wont need it seat heating might be good for resale.

yeah I've had black cars before... it's a pain but I think it is worth it.. For me a sports car can only be black or red... And since I've had a red car for 10 years.. it's time for black.. Although I have to say, some of the other colors are gorgeous and made me seriously think about them..

Gonna keep thinking about the smoking package a little more.. I seem to be in the minority that I don't think the hole looks all that bad..

While I prefer Basalt both blacks are gorgeous and as you said so are most other colors. I have no problem keeping it clean. Like most of us I am a bit **** and I don't mind cleaning or detailing it in the least.

Yeah, I still fear that I'll not use SC much.. But I guess I'll find out, something seems to make everyone like it so I'm going to gamble on it..

You know the funny thing about seat heating is ( living in southern calif which presumably is pretty mild temps) on my last car I absolutely refused to pay for that function but I got stuck with it it anyway.. Thinking it was useless..

And I had to admit it was kinda nice and I found it was nice in the winter.. lol of course in socal we are such whus's as we are cold when it drops below 60F...lol...
