Sport Design Steering Wheel in Alcantara

Hi guys, I currently have the push and pull button, and I don't really like it. I am think about switching to the paddles, which is called the SportDesign wheel. I called two porsche dealer near me. And they told me they only have the standard leather version. I want the steering wheel in Alcantara so bad.

The part number I find for the steering wheel is 991 044 400 10
The dealer told me that there is none in the U.S. Does anyone know what should I do? Is there any chance I can call Porsche by myself and asked for availability?

Thanks

Not an easy swap, you'll need the stalk and wiring harness in order to control the PCM menu.
I would go with the Tech Art paddle conversion kit instead.

I had my wheel swapped out in my former R8 for Alcantara, and it got shiny from not much use so what I'm saying is, "Be careful what you wish for because you might not want it once you have it."

Sanibel, are you using your wifes hand lotion?
I have to admit that I did a few times, ruined my alcantera steering wheel in my M5.

I love my alcantara steering wheel so far. One of my favourite options. It just feels so nice I just try to make sure to wash my hands after eating.

Try Exclusive Option. They took my sport design steering wheel and replaced the leather with Alcantara. Even put a stripe at 12 o'clock - looks and feels great.

The only down side is that you do not have the car for a week or so while it is being done.

Good luck.
